I've found a meter ruler perfect to get in there and separate the pad from the roof skin

Haha!! I was lucky my old man was clearing his old fence panels, i used old strips of wood i filed the ends so that they curve to a nice point (tapering to one edge) ill take photos

Latest update, I have started to update the look of the car. Styling and badges added. I used ebay sellers for tge window reversed vinyl stickers, 2.0 litre sign off tdi 2.0 badge, an s4 badge and bought a separate quattro badge also. Whilst maintaining the original look too

Small update, a few more parts have arrived, next week will be install week:
Massive thank you to Vidar! Radiator arrived! its undamaged, well packed. Just the import charges were a bitch! Almost 1/3 cost!!

Also more outside detailing, the long sticker on the front was difficult to install! I messed it up with alignment (long sticker) and had to rebuild 2 letters manually, but persevered and completed the task!

Also the rear view mirror fell off!!! from the windscreen, what would people suggest to use to glue it back to the windscreen?

My mirror is getting old, So I am open to purchasing a new mirror perhaps, anyone have any really good suggestions?

I think I have a spare original in good condition of you want to keep it OE.

Ok so todays progress, alu radiator installed. It still requires some tweeking. I had to drill a slot into the chassis to allow the new 70mm alu radiators side mount to fit to the car. I noticed also that on attaching the fan housing to the alu radiator. That there is a gap all around the fan, where it does not sit flush. Has this been an issue for others?

I will find a sollution..

New mtfs, new fan switch and new thermostat intalled also.
Ive bled the system 4 times now and it still seems to run hot.. on motorway it sits 1 click above 90. When i drive it hard, full revs it can go up to between 90 and 120.. the first small dot. (Im unsure of this temp).

So overall it feels like no change.. except a radiator upgrade... is this normal ir is my cooling system blocked ?

You seem to be missing the side and top air guides for the radiator. These ensure air is drawn from outside the car and not from within the (hot) engine bay. And is your fan working correctly on slow and fast speeds? There is a good guide on testing your cooling fan and after run pump here somewhere.
