My (limited) understanding is that the yellow wire change works on some (CQ20v and S2s). Yours looks different to how that's described in this post and similar posts I have looked at on the forum. I have no RS2 experience. I could have done the yellow wire swap in my ABY S2 Coupe, but seeing as I was putting in relays to beef up the wiring anyway, it was just as easy to insert a diode between the high and low trigger wires as in my post.

The yellow wire at the stalk just needs moving from one position to the other empty slot on the stalk

Just written up how I solved my high/low beam issue on a 1994 S2 ABY with projector headlights and weak headlight wiring here. So long as you can identify high/low beam feeds on each side (I used a multimeter), then you should be good to go.

aaaaaargh. the recent forum issues appear to have broken (admittedly old) links??? what are the chances someone knows what this mysterious wire change is?

Thanks, will it be the same as two bulb european lights and thus be in s2 central's archive of diagrams?

Yeah, it was hot. we get those temps here though. The main difference is the (welcome) lack of humidity (35⁰ with 90% humidity is just a drain on your soul!) And we lazy north americans have WAY better air conditioning!

That said, last year for us was about as bad as you've got this year, i didn't mow the lawn after late june and the leaves fell mid august.

This year tho, we've had our normal rainfall AND all of yours.... it's nuts. 500+mm since july 1. Problem is that's coming at crazy rates. The storm that hit the night before we came home dumped 30mm in 20mins. Lotsa flooded basements this summer apparently.

Anyways, did my first actual tig weld last night. Not stacking dimes but it'll hold lol. Will have the drier mounted today and maybe the evaporator tubes too with the ports.

I hope you enjoyed your trip. It was rather hot for you. I hope you avoided the fires we are currently having. Probably small compared to what you suffer there?
if you car was originally fitted with non elipsoid lamps and you have upgraded to elipsoid then there is a slight difference in the switch wiring at the steering column. I did this mod on a coupe years ago. If you search the internet there is a thread somewhere. I think it was from a German site? I did have old pics. I will search for them
    This thread might help

Home, wallet significantly lighter, jet lagged lol. Got a quiet moment to get the plan sorted for ac. Going to learn aluminum tig welding on the fly by mounting the drier tomorrow.... how hard can that be???? Lol

I think i am gonna use an fittings for the connections i make due to availability, not 100% on that yet tho.

Also found a supplier of small sample sizes for paint. So i ordered a few colours and a cheap airbrush on amazon, will hopefully get on with that decision later this week.

Last question for now is weather rs2 headlights are wired differently than others. And if they are, can someone share the wiring diagram? I'm wondering if i can wire my lights like that and thus solve the high/low beam issue i've yet to sort out.

No that is just normal UK weather, one day a year sunshine that can be planned on a calendar and the rest of the year we get rain.

Amazing what happens when you have the right gas.

Makes me realize though that the issues i had with the cooling ports was 95% the gas and not the cast aluminum. No matter, the result was better in that case anyways.

Leaving for the uk today, will get serious with the setup when i get back and knock out the ac.

The next obstacle though now is to find a colour palette thelat is representative of the actual finish and finally decide on a colour for this damned thing! Still aiming to send it away for paint sometime in september.

Been a while since i did anything relating to this car, been busy with dad duties with the kids off for the summer. Decided to use this project as an excuse to get myself a tig weldwr so i can hopefully properly weld aluminum and plumb the ac system nicely. Got the welder last week and started playing around. I am reminded why aluminum sucks so much lol. But it's been sucking more than i think it should. In chatting with friends who know this stuff i got to the bottom of it tonight. My supposed bottle of 100% argon is argon/co2 mix for mild steel. No wonder every attempt so far has been terrible.

So, gonna rectify that situation tomorrow n hopefully have some success afterwards.

Goin to the uk for the first time in 20 years next week, when i get back, hopefully i'll get the welding done and start breaking it down in prep for paint (still no decision on colour lol)
