I was was searching for CV's & U-joints to rebuild my drive shaft and came across a company (Driveshaft Store) in California that builds new drive shafts for the Audi GT/ UR. I decided to order the drive shaft and when it arrived, I immediately cut the center support off to install the 2 piece JXB performance center bearing mount. There is a day and night difference between the stock rubber mount and the JBX. The JBX mount is solid with very little movement. Drive shaft installed perfectly....very happy to check this off the list.

TIRE SIZE........UGH!!!
After quite a bit of searching the old internet and asking others what they suggest, I chose a Falcon RT660 245/40-17....its an aggressive tire and is a starting point.
Now mounted and mocked up, I am very happy. I am running a 25mm spacer on the front and a 35mm on the rear, this clears the big calipers. There will be some trimming of the fenders to match the Group A flares, but while at full drop on jacks, the fronts clear easily on full side to side turn.

Made up fittings and hoses for the oil feed and return line for the turbo. Also, made mount for oil cooler, just waiting on some fittings to make up the -10 lines.Attached FilesLast edited by Blagave; 29 April 2024, 22:40.

Nice project, lot's of attention to detail and a bit different which I'm always a fan of.
That 1980 UR is splendid, must be one of the very first production run or at least close, as you say not what one expect in Japan.1989 B3 2.0 3A 80 quattro... Budget 1.8T Project.
