that rubber/polyurethane bushing is close to the inside diameter of that hole. I have stock snub mount bracket and there is a quite gap between rubber mount and that steel pipe/hole…its not so tight or only on your picture is looking very tight. I am also making custom snub mount as i have 100mm ic core so to keep the ic more to the engine i have to made a new snub mount

I guess the 034 mount is different than OEM. I used exactly what 034 sent and just built mounts and the piece that the polyurethane mounts on is also OEM.Comment

So, I have been all over the place for the last month. Did some traveling, which was very nice and bounced around with wiring and upgrades on the URQ while I wait in Que for paint, which is way past what was said
.
I have been working on getting the digital dash cluster working with the Motec ECU. Thanks to the help of Norbert(SRS Motorsport), Chris, Nels and Pete Knight, I am able to get the cluster to function properly. Pete is helping with building a circuit board for the speedometer to work properly with 01e 6 speed.
I will have the best of both worlds with the OEM dash doing its thing and the Plex digital display in the center console providing detail info.
I also had to replace the electric motors and cables on the windows. The window cable broke on drivers side and was different form the passenger. I ordered a universal window system and spent a entire day adapting the OEM with the new motor and cable, which ended up working out very nicely......sorry for lack photos.
I decided to eliminate the vacuum door locks and switched over to electric plungers and wireless remote openers. This was very straight forward with a basic kit. I welded on a mount for the new plunger and modified the connection rods and wired.
Lastly, I wasn't getting a fuel reading and took apart the sending unit. The tang was not contacting the circuit board, so I added a bit of solider and added a spacer to get the tang to touch and make contact. It is working, but am looking for a replacement fuel sender P/N 857919051A, if anyone was has a unit to sell.

Nice work. I found that a John Deere 2850 tank sender was very similar inside and I was able to use parts from a new one to repair mine. The Audi sender appears to be nla.Nothelle S2 Avant

I added a rear view mirror with both front & rear cameras. I made a derlon case/mount for the rear camera and mounted in the boot, hardly noticeable.
Front camera is built into the mirror. Lots of options for viewing and can just turn off and use mirror as normal.

Still waiting for painter to take the car, hopefully soon, because I am running out of things to do.
I am putting in a basic sound system in the car, nothing crazy. The stereo is Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB 200101800000, I currently have one in my Lanica and it has blue tooth and is period correct in looks. I am also installing a Blaupunkt amp, 5 1/2" door speakers and 6x9 rear seat speakers.
I am not able to use the front door pockets because of the roll cage, so I removed the pockets from the door cards and mounted the 5 1/2 speakers in the cut out pockets in the door. I made a aluminum backing plate to add strength to the door card.
The 6x9 speakers I mounted in the side panels in the back seat. I had already filled in massive holes in the rear shelf and really didnt want to cut anymore holes, so I removed the plastic pockets in the rear side panels, replaced with aluminum panel and mounted the speakers there.
The panels should be very easy for upholster to recover.
The amp I mounted in the trunk (boot). I made a metal mount and used threaded inserts to make it easy to remove.

Today was a great day, car was dropped off at the painters. They have a bit of work to do on cutting wheels wheels and fitting everything together nicely.
Going with white body paint, my son designed a simple / modest homage to the rally stripes.

Body shop is moving right along on the UR.
The rear wheel wells are being cut and re-worked for the flares. Front fiberglass fenders were simple to cutout for the flares.
The roof needed some love with the deleted sun roof and it looks great.
Doors have already been worked and primed along with front bumper.
Hopefully, beginning of January it will be in the booth being painted.Attached Files- Screenshot 2024-12-15 at 11.51.04 AM.png (1.01 MB, 178 views)

By chance would any of the members have a pair of front seat belts in black they would part with?
Also, looking for the plastic knob for the side mirror adjustment.

When I purchased the car, it came along with lots of parts from URQ, Coupe GT and parts the previous owner sourced, which one of those parts was a Audi Sport steering wheel.
I sent the steering wheel to a company called Craft Customs, were they wrapped the wheel in black leather with gray "Basting" stitching. I had a die made to incorporate the Audi Sport embossing, to stay true to the original. The Steering wheel speaks for itself.

Body shop is doing a really nice job getting all the lines and gaps correct. The passenger rear had been hit at some point, nothing major, but a terrible bondo job, so the guys removed everything and made correct. One negative thing was the rear fiberglass deck lid. I bit of time was spent on prepping for paint and it didn't quite fit correctly on passenger side near tail light when closed. There was about 3/16" where the fiberglass stuck past the rear quarter panel, which I didn't like. We put the stock steel deck lid back on and it fit perfectly, so instead of cutting up the fiberglass and re glassing to fit, I decided to go with the original boot. Most people would not have bothered with the 3/16th out but it bugged me. Now I will have a piece of wall art with the fiberglass boot.
