    Thanks guys.

Busy morning in the garage but not much to show for it.
Dropped the car on the ground and did up the hub nuts with my big boys toys.

Then went around and torqued up the wishbones from under the car.
Next up used a cheap gauge to check wheel camber. All adjusted and torqued up.
    Huston we have a problem.
Despite pumping the brakes and then adjusting the cable until it was tight, I have no handbrake.
I did think this was due to still having some air in the system.
So, re bled the brakes. Got a tiny amount of air from the rear nearside but everything else was clear. Still spongy pedal. Re bled the master and from the top bleed nipple, lots of air and a gurgling sound as the pedal is depressed. Air just kept coming also which means master has failed and air is getting sucked in. Bug@er. So that's the next job on the list. I happen to have a seal kit here and will try overhauling it first.

I also got the shock top nuts fully right now their is some weight on them.

Not easy to do this at the back.

      So. Master brake cylinder.
      Quite easy to remove.
      Drain the fluid.

Undo the three fittings (with tubs and rags to catch the remaining fluid.

      Undo the two retaining bolts.

      And we are off.

Unfortunately, there isn't a circlip at the end some I'm not sure how to proceed. Anyone btdt?

Thanks to some advice from Newsh the clip is out.

Now the washer underneath which appears to be made from some kind of hard plastic is seized in the shaft.
It's soaking overnight in penetrating oil.

So today was a mixed one.
                    First some good news.
After sleeping on it I came up with an idea for getting the shaft out.

                    And it worked.

Then I got my seal kit out and found it was completely wrong.
And worse still, ATE really don't want people fixing their cylinders themselves. They have put a security allen on the outer plunger. Doh!

So, ordered a new master cylinder and threw all the old parts in a box for another day.
Let's get on with something constructive.
                    Rear bumper.

These rivet nuts always seize up. Only one came out the normal way.
So I found a reliable way of getting them out. Using the angle grinder, cut into the bolt slowly to generate just the right amount of heat. Then using a big screwdriver, lever the rivet nut out of the now hot and soft plastic.

The brass nuts can then be soaked in good penetrating fluid and bolts removed in the vice. The rivet nuts can then be epoxy glued back in their holes and stainless bolts and washers used.
                    Next a clean up.

It has a parts label which makes me think it's been replaced.

                    Ready for some epoxy.

The brass rivet nuts were re fitted in their holes using some epoxy.

I cut some stainless bolts down to size.

The metal panel was then fitted to the bumper.

A little neoprene tape over the bolt holes to stop any water getting in.

And fitted with stainless nuts and washers.

Yes, just surface rust. Cleaned up nicely. Painted in Novol epoxy yesterday, just need top coat.
I'm making the front ones from aluminium. There was only one on the car.

Still waiting for my new master cylinder. Annoyingly I received a message that it was being delivered yesterday. I was in all day. At 5pm I received a message saying sorry we missed you! Bl@@@y Herpies.

So, I cracked on with other stuff.

The rest of the rear bumper got washed.

Just about every bolt and screw was seized in the front bumper.

Once removed, the main bracket got a clean.

And then two coats of my favourite epoxy.

All the fog light screws were rusted in. I took it slow and they all came out eventually.
