Apart from spending lots of money on their cars for the past 30 odd years, nothing to do with Audi unfortunately. I could see myself as one of their salesmen back in the day though. When their cars were worth buying.

Lotus Carlton, lovely, Remember when I tried in vain for a few years to keep the original coil packs alive and useful but still kept getting misfires, soon as fitted the coil conversion loom from Alex and the red top coils it ran lovely. Great upgrade
Yes and very rare too now. Probably about the same number of Lotus Carlton's on UK roads as Rs2's.
Someone asked which Fuchs oil I use.
I'm like this one but it's getting rather expensive. What's everyone else using these days for road use?
Anyone tried the Total 10w50 race which is roughly half the price of the Fuchs?

Took the car for a run and I'm still getting some occasional hesitation, like lumpy running. Plugged vcds in and got oxygen sensor code. So I bought a new one and got it fitted.
Another little issue to sort is the fuel gauge. I previously swapped out the sender and got a reading but on brimming the tank the gauge only went just past half full. First I tried another damper relay. It made no difference. Then I tried adjusting the gauge. I had to remove the cluster as the cap stubbornly refused to budge.
You can do this with an Allen from the back after removing the range adjuster (which was working well).
Unfortunately, this made little difference and actually made the gauge read over empty when switched off.
So, did a quick check at the tank cap using a spare sender.
With the sender moved to the full position I got the correct reading in the cluster.
So, removed the tank cap and had a look inside. It appears the float may be fouling on something and no fully rising when the tank is full. I've made some small adjustments to the pipe routing and hopefully this will sort things.
Next little issue.
After completing the running in process, I've been giving her some beans. What I noticed is that it's very flat until about 4,000 rpm and then all hell breaks out. I mean scary and sudden power. This car was apparently live mapped by MRC many years ago. I spoke to Will there about the car and he said it was one of the quickest cars they had mapped.
Now, this sudden and aggressive power is not really my thing. I decided to hunt out original chips. I recently found a set and swapped them over. What a transformation! Some lag (as expected) but now the power comes in much lower down the Rev ranges and is much smoother. Still plenty fast enough for me and mpg has improved. What's not to like.
So, if anyone is after a set of rs2 MRC chips, let me know.
