Engine in and running now, sounds sooo smooth and sweet. Just have to run it in Got my mate to create a x member this week and after ordering £££ worth of SFS hosing and some super strong hose clips its all gravy. Only problem is that the IC sits a bit low, will have to watch that on speed humps.

Maiden voyage last night went well, no major problems or leaks. Only thing is the temp gauge is messing about, reads low then normal, must be the sender Nevermind. Got the bumper on and it well tight. Justreplaced the rad top hose as that had a small split. £112+VAT retail :O And now its filled up with some fresh G12. Time will tell, but its looking good at the moment. Gonna be driving around all weekend now

Nice work mate - what sort of power/torque figures you looking for once it's been mapped? You got excellent results at GTI int this year - looking to better those...?

Not really too sure Paul? Would like to see power increases to over 400 this time, but as for torque?? Who knows, would love 700Nm, bet hey, we will have to see.

I did another 150 miles last night, and it is making boost I was getting about 1 bar at 3.7k rpm. But thats it for now, i need to do some more miles over the bank holiday then i can take the revs up a bit. Dont want too much boost yet, wanna give the rings a fighting chance of survival(got a feeling they may need it with me)

Would like to smash this years GTi times. 4.67s 0-60 is good, but im aiming at sub 4 seconds.

Excuse the mess, but i dont beleive in too much Bling. A SS x member and polished ally IC are more than enough.

Those hose 'clips' should stop it from leaking with some luck

The custom cross member looks to mount the I/C at the same height as Martin's and the use of the rubber 'bobbins' it should be the same height which just squeezes into an S2 bumper. I couldn't tell from the low-rider photo if the bottom has been cut from the bumper.

It is looking good though!

Hmm. not sure about running in a high performance car on a bank holiday weekend in Devon though.

Tom, did you cut the 2 mounting lugs off the bottom of the i/c, mine are about 20mm long, and the bumper rubs on them so i'll be chopping them off.

what diameter pipe are you using between turbo and i/c?

No I havent cut them off as i was thinking about making some support brackets for it, or maybe a little 'sump gaurd' type thing. The pipework is as follows.....

Turbo outlet 51mm into IC 76mm
IC 76mm to intake pipes 63mm onto stock metal pipe 60mm
