Did any arrow users get a free sticker? I didnt, and for a grand i would have expected some!!! Im gonna get some made using the logo on the box. Doug/Mark do you want one for the car/engine bay?
Car wont be ready for CC Im too far advanced for rushing it now. Most of theengine is at the machine shop now.
I have opted to machine the pistoms down, this should give a CR of about 8.7/8.8:1. Been speaking to Grant at AET about turbos today, Im goona go for the same one as he was using about 1.5 years ago. K26/27 #8 hotside with a custom coldside for increased durability and good EGT's. The housing alone is 360+vat, but they will use my existing shaft 'section'. Total cost is about 680+VAT. Im told that this will be good for 500+bhp. That should be the last turbo I buy.
I had a real good chat with him today. He listed all the options out and basically said, how much power do you want? When I said that the current blower was at its limits he suggested this one. Only problem being lag is gonna be a bit worse, full boost at about 3800rpm, instead of at 3200rpm. Ah well.
I'd be interested in the full spec of the turbo, trim size, A/R ratio etc if you wouldn't mind.
Interestingly enough K26/K27 is the MTM spec of the exhaust/compressor housings.
I've been reading what the people state side have done with the K26 / Garrett hybrids.
Can someone confirm that an RS2 turbo is a K26 exhaust housing, with a K24 compressor housing with a K26 trim wheel machined in?
There are a few Garret/KKK hybrids. AET are doing these at the moment, but this was well out of my budget, around 1k+. Having said that they offer outstanding durability, with minimal lag for the size. I will find out exact spec once in my hands. At the moment im trying to sort outsome money for it!!

Cheers ears, keep me informed, i love turbo specs.
I'm forever mucking around with garrett hybrid turbo specs on *cough* R5's
KKK is a complete mystery to me!
I'm really interested to find the A/R ratio of the exhaust side (or hot side i see it refered to alot on here!) as this is side ia what primarly defines bhp limit.
Yeh the Garrett / K26 hybrids are cool but require water and oil line adaptation which is a real b*tch.
To be honest, I chat to Grant about what I want, and he recommends the turbo I need. Then I tell him how much money I have to spend, and he tells me to sod off!!!
But really, just tell him how much power you want and the car spec and he will advise you on the best option. He runs the Dubweiser mk1 golf with AAN conversion. This has the monster sized Garret hybrid at the moment. He was aksed to stop running at GTi as they wanted the KW golf to win this year.

LOL if i had the cash, i would, but unlike you mate, i'm not a Mechie i'm a Techie, understand the principles can't put them into action so modding would cost me double bubble.
Wouldn't mind one day just going above 300 Bhp but thats way off in the future.
More badnews for this damn project
The turbo was tested and stripped to reveal a crack in the exhaust housing and scoring of the bearings. This was caused by something entering the oil feed hole, bit of muck maybe.
Anyway it was either 300 to rebuild it, or 500 to change it to a #8 hotside or 700 to alter it to a rull face spec K26/27 with some fancy housings!! Quess which i opted for

The 300 rebuild? Your having as good a luck as i am kid! Still when they are back up and running
Well today im informed that the crank, lightened flywheel and pulley have all been balanced. My Motorsport 044 fuel pump also arrived and my pistons have been skimmed and the block honed.
The head is stripped and being flowed, but all the exhaust valve guides are badly worn(1mm movement side to side!!!) so they need to be done aswell. Should get the block built up etc this week and the head next week.
AET phoned today aswell and my new turbo will be with me tomorrow. Lets hope it fits
