I was over at Steve H's today and he was telling me thats what Dialynx do. Also that hillclimb car uses flattened pistons. Im not sure mate..... I have no experience with this. I cant afford to do JE pistons like you, so do I leave the pistons stock or shall I **** around with them??

If thats what Dialynx do, and I know that hillclimb car is very highpower, so it must be OK then .

In stead of machining the pistons flat why not shim the head with the parts from a second gasket? Will do the same thing but cheaper, and also reversable if it turns out to hurt squish too much.

Doesnt last very long. Thought about that. Gaskets tend to blow out

I cant see why it would blow any easier than a normal steel layered rs2 type gasket. They are already made of many layers, so one more will make no diference to reliability. I have used this way to lower CR on VW audi diesls that have much highter Compression preasures and have had NO problems.

If the skimmed pistons are good enough for Dialynx and a 600hp hillclimb car, then im sure it will be fine for mine!

Did any arrow users get a free sticker? I didnt, and for a grand i would have expected some!!! Im gonna get some made using the logo on the box. Doug/Mark do you want one for the car/engine bay?

Car wont be ready for CC Im too far advanced for rushing it now. Most of theengine is at the machine shop now.

I have opted to machine the pistoms down, this should give a CR of about 8.7/8.8:1. Been speaking to Grant at AET about turbos today, Im goona go for the same one as he was using about 1.5 years ago. K26/27 #8 hotside with a custom coldside for increased durability and good EGT's. The housing alone is 360+vat, but they will use my existing shaft 'section'. Total cost is about 680+VAT. Im told that this will be good for 500+bhp. That should be the last turbo I buy.

I had a real good chat with him today. He listed all the options out and basically said, how much power do you want? When I said that the current blower was at its limits he suggested this one. Only problem being lag is gonna be a bit worse, full boost at about 3800rpm, instead of at 3200rpm. Ah well.

What a sight I hate seeing the car like this. Hopefully should be up and running in 2 weeks time. Hopefully will get all the bits back from the machine shop next week.

So far the mods are as follows.........

                                Modified head
                                7A cams
                                RS2 Exhaust manifold
                                RS2 injectors
                                RS2 intercooler
                                Skimmed pistons (8.8:1 ish)
                                Arrow rods
                                Lightened flywheel
                                Helix clutch
K26/27 #8 with modified coldside housing

This should produce around 400~450 bhp without any problems.

                                We will see
