Just got back from a 170mile round trip to Bassat Down balancing!! Got my crank and all the other rotating bits and pieces. Top job. Now 'all' i have to do is build it up Should be done by tomorrow evening some time.

Got the bottom end built up today, well most of it. Still got to put the sump on after going thro the big ends once again. Pistons are in and bolted up to the crank, oil pump etc etc etc. Mountings are bolted on and oil filter housing.
You will have to polish the rest of the car now to look as clean as the engine bay will! Are you having a major cleanup in there before you put the nice shiney lump back in?
I had to remove no. 5 piston as i wasnt happy with the way it went into the bore. I almost didnt bother, but im glad i did. Check out the damage to the ring!!!!

Turbo looks nice n bling - what sort of characteristics will it have? I know you weren't impressed by the k26/27 that much - I'm not either to be honest. Even though it's putting out 2 bar it's sort of 'so what?' performance - not really kicking me in the back or anything, which is disappointing - wish I'd gone for an RS2 job now. Oh well.
What you doing about gearbox or does 'hoping it won't break again and have my fingers crossed' just about cover it?
After driving Dougs I am expecting a lot of lag, but that doesnt matter. The 26/27 did produce good results for me tho even at 1.8 bar. But this should be more effiecnt i hope meaning more top end with a bit of luck

The residual oil from various oil leaks etc will help to keep the rust at bay. LOL
