Just as well i've got a 3.5mm reamer on the way...typical of modern companies i spose?
Hi guys,
Just spent about 2 hours prepping my rods for an engine build and i noticed a couple of niggles i have had to sort out.
First there sems to be 'burr' left at the machining of the groove at the big end and second the oil hole at the small end seems to have another 'burr' on the inside of the hole, probably left after the small end has been honed to size.
These are not all present on all rods though.
Hope the pictures are clear for you to see these problems.
I'm not looking for replacements as i will be solving these problems here but it makes me feel a little bit disappointed in the quality standard in the rods as they are advertised as 'performance parts'.
Maybe this was a rogue set that got passed your usual inspection processes?
Part no. on the box is'2-5670-1992-981-787S'.
P.S. Can you tell me the correct size for the small end oil hole so that i can purchase a suitable reamer.
Many thanks.
Carl.

Nope...spent about an hour on each rod. Reamed the holes, de-burred all the sharp edges and re-finished inside the small ends...checked fit with an old pin.
