Yeah vinegar was the other thing I looked at, but was more expensive than molasses, so if this doesn't work I'll try vinegar

Good work on the engine bay. You have so much patience!

Interested to see how your molasses experiment goes.

Looking at the old ABS unit. No plans to get rid of it for the sake of smth more sophisticated like UrS6's ABS+EDS?

I'm happy with the older ABS, it is there in the background but doesn't intrude

What are the advantages of moving to the urs6 abs? would the weight difference of the cars have any bearing on its operation?

Sorry for the slight thread derail?

UrS6 ABS has EDS: a useful more or less safety upgrade for daily driving, staying cheap and doable at the same time. Later systems are more tightly incorporated with the ECU, while the UrS6 ones are independent units.

So is EDS a brake force distribution system based on data from g-sensors? I don't know much about it TBH.
As above though I've never felt my ABS lacking in any respect other than it has no diagnostic functionality....in fact I would say it is the least intrusive system on any car I have ever driven close to the limit.

I thought the urs6s had EDL, an electronic diff lock (brakes applied through the abs) when they dropped the manual diff lock.

EDL==EDS (Elektronische Differenzial Sperre in German).
If I'm not mistaken, It works up to 80 km/h.
