Very nicely installed indeed! Rainbow speakers are top quality. I had a kit in my previous e39 bimmer, and the sound quality was really good.
This gearbox project is interesting. Any clue how much these boxes can handle?

I'm not sue they are quite as strong as 01E, as the casing is all alloy but they seem to hold up to supercharged V8 power pretty well:

The syncro set-up is so much better on the 0A3, they shift much, much smoother, and of course the 40:60 T3 diff is a big advancement over the T1 & T2 from the 01E.

Since when have tie rod adjusters and cv joints(???) been goldie coloured? lol I thought everything was either silver or a brownie sticky mess... aka rust and grease lolComment

Did they put a finish on the brake servo heat shield? or is it just clean?Comment

Yeah I had them acid dipped and bright zinc plated. They said they were a massive PITA as the acid soaked into the ceramic lining of the shield and then leached out when they tried to plate them. So they cost a bit, but loads cheaper than buying new, if you can even get them anymore.
I'm going to give everything a regular coat of ACF50 when fitted to keep it nicer for longer.Panthero Coupé quattro 20vt
