About the tacho; You should be able to wire a PWM output on the Haltech to the RPM signal cable in the stock ECU harness (without the stock ECU connected), set it up as "tacho" in Halwin, and do some tweaking to make it show the right RPM.

Do you have any pictures of the plug tips? If they are still thereOriginally posted by timucinspark plug problems again!
we are burning spark plugs ,each set goes maximum 100kms
any comment or suggestions?
It would suggest your mixture is incorrect or the plug heat rating is incorrect for your setup. Whatever it is, it could cause a nasty failure if you're not careful

Knock leaves traces on the plugs, can this mean you have VERY heavy knock? So much it eats away the plugs.....Comment

Mate, can you explain the way how you tune the car exactly ??? Are you log engine parameters somewhere ? Are you log boost, air fuel ratio(wideband), EGT temp, intake temp, rpm-s ? If you have logs from your tuning sessions please post them here, because without more info noone here can help you. But to burn spark plugs every 100 kilometers, then there is some very big error on your tune. You run Haltech stand alone ECU, can you post here your fuel and ignition map screenshots ? On other way, who tune your car ? You, or tuner whit good experience ? To make good and safe tune, man who did it, need to know a lot of stuff about engine management and need to have good feedback tools, not only to "feel" tuning with its boby when he drive the car, but with burned plugs every 100km i think feeling is the "feedback" to your tuner, not the tools.Originally posted by timucinspark plug problems again!

too lean / rich afr could destroy spark plugs also, i learned this by experience from my old car; turbocharged polo
life is full of learning experiences
sometimes its not easy to see the whole picture, you should live and learn to see you are making mistakes. that car was like a school to me...Cheers

we solved spark problems last week; received new cooler sparks from UK and everything was perfect untill....
we boosted 2.3 bar peak ,2.1 continous ; we damaged the bearings again , first cylinder.
we are rebuilding the engine again
*note: that boost was too much we knew but just wanted to see what was gonna happen.
