Cheers guys......I guess it is safe to assume that looks OK?

I have obviously I have the motor and the gearbox together. In between the two is a Sachs Clutch kit with the factory flywheel. New Sachs clutch slave cylinder installed also.

On the front of the engine I done the timing belt service. New factory RS2 specific timing belt, roller, RS2 water pump are all set in place and the timing set so it's ready to drop in the slot. Just need to torque the crank pulley bolt to proper spec. I would have done this beforhand, but it's not possible to get that done on an engine stand or the floor. Once the motor in in the car I'll finish that off.

A few more small bits to attend to and I will be mounting it in the car. I am, of course, organizing a local BBQ at my place to commemorate the event. A definite milestone for me. Should happen in a couple of weeks, I just have to find the time.

Have completed reading through the previous pages and it is truly impressive.
Well done – and keep it up!!

A marvelous car in what I think is the exactly the right color combination……

Its amazing how this American guy is attending to detail in the building process of a European classic!!
Far from what is usually displayed in American TV-carshows where a complete rebuilding of a classic car can be accomplished in 45 minutes! I still wonder why those shows always only focus on the time-frame, never on the quality of the job done it typically looks good on the surface, but what about the rest….

Several comments about possible troubles on registering such a low production car seems to indicate US restricting an otherwise very roadworthy car.
Kind of strange when other more or less homemade cars and bikes seem to register without problems.

About 5 years ago I imported an American low production classic car and discovered huge problems with the authorities to get the car approved and subsequent registered. All in all it took nearly three years and required dispensation from present rules and special approval from the vehicle department.

Luckily my RS2 is straight forward here….. a big smile – a serious drag in the wallet – and then try to keep smil`n…… which should not be that difficult once behind the wheel of a RS2!!

We are waiting for next episode of RS2 Amerika……
