Cheers guys!
I have been working away on it steadily slowly knocking the jobs off the list.
Took a while to get the intercooler mounted as its such a bloody big thing. I made a new bar which comes down from the chassis legs to underneath the intercooler. As well as holding the intercooler its going to hold the front of the sump guard.

Made it so that the metal holding the intercooler is hidden behind the bumper.

Once it was mounted I made up the 3" boost pipes:

Sent them away with a load of other parts I had been making to be tig welded. whilst I was waiting for the welding I got some stainless ties for the driveshafts, a job I have been putting off for a while:

This week I picked everything up from welding. First the exhaust:

See through silencers!

Seriously tight with the 3.5" downpipe and seperate wastegate pipe:

Boost pipes with tial blow off valve:

Bleed nuts welded into the 90 degree water pipe bends that come through the front bulkhead into the engine bay:

Had to have the pro alloy swirl pot cut up so I could get the twin pumps joined directly onto it due to lack of space to get everything in the boot:

-12 welded onto the bottom of the dry sump tank so the oil can be dropped out through the floor rather than removing the tank.

Water header and oil catch tank that I made up and had welded with all the rest:

-12 stainless fitting welded onto the 90 degree bend in the boot for the header tank to drop into:

Tanks will sit equally in the boot one on each side:

So that brings everything upto date. I am very happy with all the welding done, but I have decided the alloy bits could do with blasting to remove the oxidisation and give them more of a matt finish. I have also ordered a sheet of 5mm alloy plate which is going to make up a sump guard as the front edge of the sump looks very vunerable. It will also stregthen up the front end by tieing the subframe into the front bar under the intercooler. It should give worry free driving when giving it some stick and also make jacking the front up very easy to get it onto the sill stands.Comment

Went over to see Simon and Olly at Solway blast cleaning after work today. They are the lads that blasted the shell and lots of engine/ chassis parts for me. All the alloy parts were blased with glass powder and have come out very nicely, no more oxidisation or shineyness!

Also dropped into Kimera fabrications to see Garry and Darren as the exhaust centre had pulled in one place with all that welding. I had to slice it at the weekend to get it to fit and then tack it back up. They managed to fit it in between lots of different jobs for M-sport, half the fiesta wrc cars seem to be getting made there!
Hopefully I will have the exhaust mounted up this weekend. I held off making any mounts on the car as I knew it would move when welded. Also waiting on some wheel studs to land from America and then I will get the car back onto its wheels again!Comment
