Slowly
Spent the last few weeks just getting it running right, going to fit the electric windows next (IF it ever stops raining!!!
) and also paint the door mirrors at the same time, passenger one seems to be a bit bent on the mounts though, will have a look when the door cards are off and the mirrors removed. Boot spoiler will be painted and fitted when the mirrors are painted. All the dash bulbs are now blue LED's, ala VW Passat esque, everything else is posted under the project listing (Project Noir) Still after a pair of coupe headlamps and a3 spoke steering wheel though.................
Sooty's coming on well though Jase

The latest 1Z had a couple of different parts, air mass meter, turbo, ecu, injectors and i think also the main bosch pump. It has 202nm torque, your has 182, and the CC works with it plug and play.
The turbo was smaller, dunno the specs, sorry.Audi Quattro WRComment

Hell, what was going on with the rain? unreal
Really missing being able to drive, but also not bad being chauffeured about by my bro :mischeif:
Big thanks to Sal and my bro for removing my old awful standard seats and fitting the S2 avant ones. The others were terrible to park your butt on for any length of time, especially with my back the way it is. Lumbar support is a must. Ok, they have quattro script, but couldn't say no with them being in such good condition and being heated to boot. They'll be wired up at some point.
As for the quattro part, still in the thinking stages. Watch this space.

More flippin lights to buy
Let me fully look into this first. I'll know a lot more by Monday afternoon.
.................................................. .................................................. ..............
Forgot this.
Mentioned earlier by Skull and Ben and Paul way back at the beginning of the thread, the ECU certainly did change.
I have a later 1Z ECU that I got off Sal.
Normally, at least from what I know of ECU's, you have the boost/vac line that runs from the inlet manifold to the ECU for it's internal MAP sensor.
Now, looking at this later ECU, it does indeed have a small nipple for a boost/vac line to be fitted when in use.
Not Sooty's ECU though. No boost/vac line going to the ECU at all, and no nipple on the ECU.
That no problem for the boost gauge, I'll route the boost/vac line through the bulk head a tap into a nice conveniently blanked off nipple on the inlet manifold.
But I can't understand why the ECU fitted in pre 1994 1Z's hasn't got any line attached to it. How does the ECU determine boost then? If it's electronically, where and what type is the sensor in the engine bay?
Or doesn't the ECU need any feedback from the turbo? does it just boost until the internal wastegate opens? and that's it?
Head scratcher for sure, for me anyway.
Jase..
