Well after much hunting on the net and the photo's supplied on the last post. I have made the decision to start and weld the seat box back into position. I have measured so many times I am getting dizzy, so have just decided to bite the bullet and begin.

This is where I am rewelding the seat box in. Once cleaned up and painted it will look similar to what the stock one would look like.

One side is welded here and one side is just placed in position to get an idea.

A shot of where I have fitted the seat in and moved it to it's fully back position

The join to the B Pillar

Once all the welding has been finished and I have fitted the full roll cage. I have been looking at the following company.

it looks like a massive time saver. It is expensive around £1400 for the full treatment. But I have been told the job they do is amazing.

It's a sure fire way of getting the insides of the cills coated and protected and it will show up any bits I have missed and need to get sorted before assembly.

Hi guys.... I need to ask a question.....

Does the original Sport quattro have a narrower rear seat base?

Replies would be appreciated sooner rather than later as I need to get on with welding...

Any photo's of the rear seat base and seat runners will also be a great help

    CCK Kit £1145

What a nightmare to line up the roof..... You have to pretty much cut everything off the rear part of the shell... I will post some more pics on Friday...

Huy guys, I have not been able to post anything for several weeks because I have been waiting for the roof..... Well it's just landed.

My last series of posts was about which coilovers to go for as I had trouble with getting the KW ones. So I decided to go with quattronics CCK kit. After speaking to Corey he promised to have them completed in 2 weeks. As promised right on time I collected the set of coilovers with a set of subframe ally bushes and a set of promounts...

So tonight is the night I get my teeth stuck into the project again.....
There will be 9" grinders and welders all over the place....

Yes the block has been bored to 83mm. A local engine center acid dipped the block over the weekend. I just need some info now on which are the best main bearings to use.. either 7A, S2, RS2... I have looked on the forum but can't find anything yet.
I have got a set of core plugs on order will be here next week. I have acid etched the block tonight and given it a few coats of black paint. Progress on the project has stopped for parts for the time being.

I'm sending my 7a block off next week to be honed and dipped...

Keep up the goodwork, coming along nicely

Today's update. Got the 7A block back from being bored.... Decided to remove the core plugs and dipstick before sending the block to be acid dipped...

Core plugs were a right PITA to remove along with the dipstick that decided to snap itself off at the base.

I have borrowed the kit till mine comes from KER. As far as the sills are conserned I think I will have an attempt at folding them myself this time....

I have started another folder on facebook with more pics here.

I can see now why people get to this stage and give up. The panels don't fit nice at all. and after very much thinking last night I think I will be cutting the wings rather than removing any more steel. You are supposed to remove all the outer steel from the 'B' pillar where the door shuts and replace it with the rear wing. but this is where the door striker is and shutting the door over time on this bit will make the rear wings crack I'm sure. so I will trim the wings down bond them on the inside of the 'B' pillar just inside the door shut and then make good on the outside with filler. It will make a much much nicer job. I will get some pics when I do it.
