I am located in the small city of 's-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch) which is in the middle of the Netherlands. Drop me a PM once you plan to travel to NL so I can see if my car is ready

since when is Den Bosch in the middle of the Netherlands? It's quite down south for me.

Nice parts you got there Bram

Wow, this car is going to be even more greater than it used to be!
Looking foreward to see the results on this fine car when the upgrade is done.

Can I ask what made your choise as for the CT turbo?

Thanks Anders! Your Avant is an example for me too.

The reason for choosing CT is because of the words of advise I got from Jyrki to upgrade the GT3071R with a CT355 for some more top-end HP, same spool-up RPMs, and last but not least a reason for me to switch from KKK to T3 flanges which would lead to a bit more flow on the exhaust side

The last year I have collected so many components waited to be fitted, but not yet had the time to do so.

The next steps are planned to be fitted in the coming weeks (and it helps that my girlfriend is abroad for a month :mischeif:

                  -Wagner IM
                  -Wagner IC
                  -Wagner SS x-member
                  -Wagner EM T3
-Adjust downpipe from 4 bolt flange to Vband flange
                  -CT355 turbo
-Replace turbo oil drain line and CT fittings (still need to check what will be the best solution)
-IM spacer plate from 034MS (if it allows me to close the bonnet)
-034MS HO coil kit (already 2,5 years laying here in the garage, because I could not find a good spot to mount it on the back plate, but now the Wagner IM allows me to do it)
-Electric rear windows incl. new wire loom and controls in steerers door
-New fresh RS2 door panels with custom speaker boards
-New audio amplifier in the back
-VEMS EGT and AFR meter somewhere in the dash. Any tips?
-Get the water temp sensor working in the RS2 instruments cluster
-Motor and tranny mounts with 034MS street density ones
                  -Replace the bomb
                  -Replace fuel filter
-Put in the new Koni shocks
                  -New top mounts

If the car is running again I will also change the DM flywheel into a lightened SM 7A flywheel and put in a 6-pad sinter clutch from Joe

I am still looking into swapping the ABY rock cover into a 7A rock cover, but need to figure out the impact on the sump breathing system. Might as well fit the catch tank.

I made some pictures of the CT355 internals and measured (roughly) the wheels.

The coldside wheel measures 75mm exducer and 55mm inducer (slightly smaller as a GT3076R)

The hotside wheel measures 70mm inducer and 60mm exducer (I think that's the same as a GT3076R)

I noticed the wheel and axle are balanced, with quite some machining. You can see on the pictures the coldside wheel has 2 small bites out of it at the exducer side and the hotside axle locking bolts are also machined.

im really anxious to see how this turbo, not being BB will be able to produce as much as the 3076R on an non ported I5 engine, and spool faster than the 3076R since the wheels are the same if not smaller.

get it on the car!!!!! hehe

I received a ceramic tripple ball bearing version, to be more specific, from Jyrki
I was lucky with the order as I ordered and paid for a journal bearing CT355

Hmmm you shouldnt say much more about this then!!! hehe

obviously if 3BB is the case, then yes it will spool faster, but i guess not everyone is lucky in getting a 3BB although paying for an ordinary journal one

                              CT355 vs. GT3071R

One these pics you can see that the CT355 is slightly bigger then the Garrett GT3071R in some areas.
E.g. the hotside looks a bit wider and the T3 flange is also a bit thicker as the Garrett one. I hope I don't get interference issues with the chassis, because I don't want to bash another cm down at that spot where the hotside hits the chassis. Let's see how that goes.

Also you can clearly see the center section of the CT is much wider, because of the extra ball bearing.

Sorry for stupid questions - I am not up on CT products yet - do they offer choice of T3/T4, KKK #6 or #8 hotside mounting flange ?

Don't these 3BB turbos from CT not suffer from same stalling issues as Garrett - if trying to load them up too much too early - or do they have some black magic there to offer superior performance ?

Any other significant differences between say CT355 and GT3071R ?
