Yes They seem to work very good, as I have been using them for some time on several silicon hoses and lines.

The zip tie, I wouldn't use it over the turbo hotside, I have the clamps that can only be undone using a pair of pliers on the WG output, better still is like what Volcano_RS has done and is a braided hose

I agree that there are better ways of doing it, but until now this has been working fine for me. The silicone hose is already really a pain to get it on the WG nipple, and taking it off is an even more demanding action, so it will probably even stay put even if the zip tie will come loose.

Can I just leave out the OEM lambda sensor once I start using VEMS? I already have the WB lambda at the bottom of the downpipe inserted.

                  yes. its not wired in.

i have 2 wb02 sensors in. 1 near top that the gauge is connected to and one down bottom for ecu. same plugs so i can check for a failure easily by swapping

ok, cheers for that. I was not sure if the VEMS ECU would still be triggering the OEM lambda via the Motronic engine loom.

Ok. Ok. I understand not everyone drives their cars like we do in Southwest England. But I was just pointing out what I see as a potential problem.
The wastegate has a very important purpose.

That is truly no place for a zip tie. They will go brittle when subjected to heat, and that particular hose is the most critical pressure hose on your engine. Even though it fits tight, put a proper hose clamp in there poste haste

yep, Gazza is correct (naturally ) OEM lambda can be removed and VEMS wideband put in its place.

OK guys. After reading that link above you have convinced me to do it better then I thought it might be good enough. Until now it worked like a charm, but better safe then sorry.
For now I plan to replace the silicon WG hose with a better one and put a descent clamp on it.

Is anyone else using a silicon hose towards the WG and found it problematic btw, or am I the only one doing this?

Never old enough to learn it, right?

Correct me if I'm wrong Stu but you've not driven your S2 in 3 years?

You're right tho, better to use metal there although if that hose leaks you'll get mechanical boost so may have results as per Audiman's thread so best be safe.

VEMS is starting to interest me more and more. Better have a look and see what it's all about...

You know we're only trying to help.

I've had silicone hose break up on both the wastegate and diverter valve from heat. I didn't get any 2.7 bar boost spikes on the K24 though.
