Project: S2 Coupe Continously upgrade

It is realy fast and must have been a nearly perfect lap.
Yes maybe it is a little much camber in the front, especially for the Ring. However the braking is no problem expect from the fact that I still have too much rear brakes. It is no problem to keep it in a straight line.
Here comes a couple of videos with my friend behind the wheel in the e30 this weekend:

Jesus titty f*cking 8.24 in a 325... has your friend had his fear gland removed? Thats impressive
That's a lot of camber on the front wheels, whats your braking like? How does it handle in the wet?Leave a comment:

Offset front subframe bushes will give you another 1 degree or so of castor. I was looking into these but the order from 034 hasn't materialised yet.Leave a comment:

He he, the Ring is not that far away
Alignment = hjulvinklar??
Front: -3.3 deg camber, neutral toe out/in
Rear: -2.0 deg camber, slightly toe in to retain stability at high speeds
Caster angle is what it is and too small (No adjustment...) The car is also too low and control arm angles/ roll centers are a little off... But as the header says of this thread: Continously upgrading. Maybe I get enough time to tweak the chassi angles and aerodynamics a little next winter

Yeah, always have to drive home... the guy driving had to avoid a slow bike
got a little wiggle on and preceded directly to the scene of the accident with the Armco, that was the result.
I've not been for nearly 2 years and am losing my nerve with going back driving, too much risk at the mo. Hope to do a track day there instead. £££s but worth it for clear laps and no bikes.Leave a comment:

you are living my dream!
my goal is the come under 8,30m on the nordschleife, hopefully under 8min also, but this is an long-term goal of-course!
what is your alignment when you are @ Ring with the s2?Leave a comment:

I know, it is insane... (He has 7.56 BTG as personal best, in a Z3 M Coupe, he know the Ring very well!)
Oooops, you just have to respect the "Green Hell" and drive with margins... 4 closings on saturday and ambulance on the track twice...Leave a comment:

8m24!!!
he obviously didn't brake then!
Here's 2 pics of my 318is on the 'ring (not me driving), the first is entering Wehrseifen and the second is about 5 minutes later exiting Wehrseifen

A little OT but...
He he, it looks like ****
It is "priceless" to see the looks on peoples faces. We have experienced that we have to open the bonnet to show people that it is a stock engine, with stock manifolds etc. Last time it was a 500+ hp scooby that did two laps with my friend Kenneth without beeing able to shake him of
But the car is in technical very good condition: New "race" coilovers with adjustable dampers, all bushings are new in hard delrin or similar, same with engine, gear and diff bushings. All brake calipers new (stock size), all brake tubing new, good ventilation with airducts from the frontspoiler to front brakes, Ferrodo DS2500 brake pads etc etc.
My friend Kenneth have the most laps in it and have done 8.24 BTG with it. Stock 171hp engine
I have a 8:39 lap from him on tape that I can post later. That time is set in traffic with me as passenger (80kg of "dead" meat)
My optimal racechrono laptime, with passenger, from the first 6 laps was as low as 8.36 BTG
(Optimal laptime= the best sector times from that session)

That BM looks like a bit of a shed, must be hilarious overtaking Porsched, Audis, BMs etc. in it!
Helmet cam adds loads of speed into the video due to the movement, look forward to trying this myself

I am also using a small bullet cam. Mounting it on the helmet was a nice twist and gave the move some "life"
Also very easy to mount/dismount with 3M velcro.
Not easy to spot on a black helmet either:Attached FilesLast edited by magarv; 7 July 2009, 11:34.Leave a comment:
