Just read about a guy that crashed, via another froum. Driving a Caterham... in the wet... on R888s... hardly a suprise that there was a lack of grip really but there you go, not really a problem for us lot but if you decide that a 500kg car on slicks in the wet is a sensible idea then perhaps grab some coffee and convince yourself otherwise

I had 2 great ones last time I was there, the first was at the Fox Hole where I pulled over to let a bike through, he was way over 130 and as he went past he lifted his right foot off the peg and waved it at me to say thanks! The second was a British bike at Brünchen who I let by on the short straight. With his knee touching the ground going round the corner he look his left hand off the bars, held it far above his head and waved for all if was worth!

They're not all like that though, also had a biker fall off 6 feet in front of me at Steilstrekecurve and ended up running over his wingmirror whilst on the ABS taking avoiding action. He only nudged the barrier and got up looking a bit shocked but in one piece.

I agree that most of them give signal. My consern was also about how vulnerable a biker is compared to the car. A little "bumbing" will wipe them out instantly, with two cars you would in most cases just be presented for a big bill....
The signal/not letting passed problem is just as big when it comes to cars.

nice clip - totally see what you mean about bikers.....be interesting if thy do end up sessioning bikes and cars then next year. Having seen the result of a bike smash at galgenkopf on my first lap it's probably no bad thing, though IMO 90% of the bikers I saw were pretty curtious and did signal for being let past or allowing me past.

    Ahhh, I see.

Maybe this shows it better. It is just a 3,5" bend cut in half.

    Video time

I have a little mixed feelings when watching this movie... I realy hope they split up bikers and cars next year as the rumor says...

The biker at Flugplatz checks both his mirrors just before we catch up with him, then he kind of sits up and relaxes just as we pass him. I was 110% he was letting me pass him. Then he just turns in

I'll guess I just have to learn from the situation and keep in mind how some people think and react... (including myself on the other hand)

And I realy need to do something with my pedal assembly. As for now it is just impossible to use "heel-toe" with my small feet...
