    Well, the car bit me:

So I've been out of action for a bit, but I've also got these:

Which I'm very happy with! Many thanks to Paul at Roose Motorsport for his help with these - I'll report on how well they fit as it's the first set he's done (making jigs from my old ones!) but they look the part definately.

Proper pictures tonight, and I'll see if I can't get the headlights sorted although my wrist stings like fewck.

Doubt it tbh, as all of the hoses are off so I think the hard work is done!

Well, the back two hoses are being utter cocks so I'll have to use the old hot water trick - however I've managed to sort the rest of the hoses out. Few pictures of the work - the crossmember needs to be wire brushed and hammerited but the intercooler's been done, got the radiator back in and secure...

Get the aux rad off the other half for Christmas (although she's had me check it's the right one before she wraps it up!) and other than that it's all good! Will be looking to have it down the road and back on Boxing day, and properly driveable as soon as I get the spacers on it! Although the back brakes are shot so will need to get those sorted before driving it hard - they're down to metal! Will also get the fuel filter changed over the Christmas period, and with a bit of luck get an oil change done too...

Just spoke to Paul (Roose Motorsport) and apparently the trick is hairy liquid mixed with water applied to hose and stub - will let you know how I get on with the ones on the **** of the block later!

Big thanks to Paul though - they're brilliant fit and look great other than those two tight ones, so I'm looking forward to filling it up and hearing the I5 howl again!

Christ! If you haven't tried adding a lubricant to it yet, no wonder you are struggling. I have used WD40 to fit hoses etc before too. But fairy liquid and a little water is the kiddie... :

Yup fairy liquid, water, wd40 anything really. We used to have spray bottles in honda to do the rad pipes on the front of the cars when we was making them, i've even seen one of the guys use spit tho he ran out quite quickly

Your car was looking nice when phil had it, can't wait to see it in person, the effort thats going into it

Well - Merry Christmas all! Spent this afternoon working on the S2, managed to get the last two hoses on and I need to get some coolant, but it's run up to temperature with tapwater and the vents are warm - hoses all appear to be OK after I managed to get rid of the airlock! Got the intermittent wiper relay swapped and the euro wiper conversion on it and it looks much better... Just got to sort the trims on the side, and it also needs the spacers as on a roll down the road it rubbed ever so slightly...

                    Wahoo!

How do you work out what size suspension dampers you have? As everyone lists 50 and 55mm options, but I don't know how to check? Where is this thread?

All S2's use 55mm diameter front dampers.

Well, the project moves along... Very slowly! Latest updates:

Although the car's not been touched yet! LOL! Hopefully the Clio goes on Saturday, and I'll collect the S2 that afternoon although it'll be on it's original wheels as I've still not seen these damned spacers (I'm about to order £1400 worth of parts from them, which they can stick if they don't pull their finger out!)

Got the car to Warwick now! Excellent drive down, was very well behaved although I think wheel bearings and brakes are due before I move it again! And it could do with a new battery... I'll get those sorted a week after next, once I've got job stable and the money from the Clio...
