Volvo T4 started dumping clouds of black smoke out of the exhaust and would not drive/idle...turned out to be a water temperature sensor failure and it was causinng the ECU to overfuel the engine...maybe something similar is occurring!Comment

It's actually pretty simple with the exchange item.
Take the exchange item. Unscrew the sensor (you need security torx). Swap your old sensor into the brand new housing, and give it back to them.
Problem sorted
