There will be plenty more pics when the long block is removed this weekend, sadly iy looks that something might have been damaged in the head and sent shrapnel into the sxhaust/turbo, it appears that the shaft of the turbo is bent... further inspection will happen but it looks like it might not have survived.

The plan is simple, I already have a new block and head that were dropped off at the machine shop today. I have dm forged rods, these are the same that marc sells,stock pistons andstainless steel exhaust valves, new seals bearings and piston rings, a basic refresh. I was planning on keeping everything else the same but now if my turbdied I might have to run a stock k24 for the time being, I just don't have the cash to spend on a new turbo after all the other stuff. Sad but it is the way it is. It will be rebuilt and live again soon.

Our deal was just cash vs turbo...

Never got to run it, since I decided to go for a bigger turbo and then sold my UrS6 in favor of a B5 RS4. I still have it though, if you want it back...

As far as I can see no signs of detonation, looks like a standard rod failure.

What did you rev it to?
Yeah based on the piston pics, the stock rods can take more knock than that.
Usually when they bend you can see clear marks on the pistons.

I rarely rev high, this was on the freeway in 4th gear, my revs were low.
