You would need ABY or AAN ECU and then you can just swap the pins in the ECU plug. Just get some coils from Efiexpress, 034motorsport or from an Audi S6 with the new V8 engine. I can dig out the part no. if you like.

I would think you could do it in a day if you have all the components.

I am also thinking of doing this, but would not want to do all this and keep the noisy dizzy... I think it is worth modding for a hall sender at the front at this stage - although it does mean some extra work....

If you find out exactly what to do, can you let me know...!

You can keep the Dizzy in and use it for a hall sensor only and convert to coils ala early AAN

I agree, this is by far the easiest way.... but, the dizzy makes one hell of a racket.... It would be really good - at this stage to get rid... would make the engine sooo much quieter.....

Not necessary, but how much extra work for a better result?

you'd need to have the head off to weld on the boss for the hall sender.

There's been thoughts of selling but I've decided to keep the car and fit all the bits I've been hoarding for it, Wagner kit etc

Sort the exhaust so its not so loud (needs to pass CC noise test for example..) bigger back box I think and extra holes for wideband and egt.
Move battery to under rear seat.
Sort petrol tank vacuum , vent to atmos.
Mods to catch tank.
Find and fix leak in hydraulic system
Fit opening rear window kit.
Recover and refit headling.
Fit the pair of black leather Recaros from and E30? BMW

Not much apart from collecting parts

Started the work in the engine bay today, ran the engine till the fan cut in then removed the airbox, IC, crossmember and inlet pipework, Turbo and RS2 exhaust manifold, the EM will go into the Avant S2Bo Crossmember and monster IC will be for sale.

It was cold but the heat in the engine lasted well and I can still feel my fingers, has to be said though, I wore a lot of layers Those last 3 bolts under the EM are fun eh?
