  • What a day, the engine and gearbox is in!!

    Audi delivered too...they got the flywheel bolts over night!

    here's some pics of the day...

    • Also a nice solution the the NLA gaitor for the shift mechanism joint to the gear box.

      I destroyed some old mountain bike suspension!

      • Looking awesome fella, top marks for getting your old man under the car whilst you operate the crane!

        There is something special about getting to the closing stages of a project. Soon you be able to go out and get it all dirty again and lie awake obssessing over the filth accumulating on the shiny bits

          • yet more photos! Its a good job i dont have a girlfriend...

            I've done a few more bits on the car, wiring, painting the underside, began cleaning the front arches and sorted jubilee clip sizes for the silicon hoses...and put them on to please myself

              • ADI is the plan...but i think i had a moment of realisation today. There is still ALOT of work left to do on her...

                • Fuel Lines
                • Oil cooler + lines (mocal)
                • brakes (new rear calipers)
                • wheel bearings
                • prop shaft
                • Service driveshafts
                • belts, water pump, timing
                • paint front wheel arches
                • paint new wings + door strips
                • jubilee clips for hoses
                • polishing IM and cam cover
                • Exhaust


                worst of it all...i'm moving for work on thursday and will be 70miles away...limited to weekends work now!

                • Couple of days work there you big girl


                  Fuel Lines - 4 hours to make up new ones from scratch
                  Oil cooler + lines (mocal) - 2 hours to fit
                  brakes (new rear calipers) - 1 hour to fit & bleed
                  wheel bearings - 2 hours
                  prop shaft - 30 mins (want to borrow my alignment jig? )
                  Service driveshafts - 2 hours
                  belts, water pump, timing - 1 hour while the front's in bits
                  paint front wheel arches - 3 hours
                  paint new wings + door strips - bodyshop
                  jubilee clips for hoses - 1 hour
                  polishing IM and cam cover - Paint them - polish is for Fords and homos
                  Exhaust - stock will do for now

                  Panthero Coupé quattro 20vt
                  Indigo ABY coupé
                  Imola B6 S4 Avant

                      money is a big issue right now...living off student loan this year has made things very very tight! Can't actually afford to finish it right now...but the pay cheques start rolling in from the end of the month

                      I only have today and wednesday before I have to move...then i wont be back until the 10/11 to do anymore. going to be working looooong days on it then!

                      • I was toying with the idea of painting the camcover and IM black...but just not sure about it!

                        • That crinkle finish looks really good in black IF you can make a nice job of it with rattle cans!
                          I'd always go with stealth OEM silver though

                          • no updates for the day...been moving stuff and building Ikea flat packs...Living the dream!

                            I have changed my mind about the IM and camcover...it wont be chromed but i'm not revealing what it is quite yet...you'll see soon enough!
