Okay were try and see.hi, not the best design of mcpherson control arms.. on braking you will have problems with outer spherical bearings, it can unscrew... If you want to test then put there 2x nuts, but it would be better to have there welded housing for round spherical bearing for safety.
had similar design years ago.. it works with double wishbone, but not mcpherson
Original diff mount must flex with 600hp thats for sure! This will not 100% and yes i have some one making me several sets to allow adjustment and some special EN36 hardend King pins with alittle extra length to bring back the roll center with the lowered chasisChefComment

Where are you getting your joints from James ?Comment

Bloody hell James enough nuts on there???
I got a card off some guy from Autosport for Aurora bearings so gave him a call got a pretty good deal out of it in the end. But you still cringe when you know the price for each joint

Double adjusters mate, so adjustable in situ as per the works cars. I'm not using Aurora bearings, too pricey for me ! Andrew Gallagher ran McGill motorsport joints on his 800hp carbon focus and never broke or wore one out so thats where I did my shopping.
Mine runs 14 joints per side so yes well aware of the cost of bloody rose joints LOL
Looking great though mate, bet you can't wait to get it back on its wheels again

I bet lol, it will be worth the wait ( thats what I keep telling myself anyway lol )
As for McGill, I know their cheap which puts people off but we have all seen the punishment that Focus got !
I bet Gatebil was awesome, probably not quite as muddy as the weekend I had ha ha, hope you had a great time.Comment

but wheel side spherical bearing is in housing that is welded. And they have made double adjusters:

The double adjusters come from dewitts. The arms were indeed fabricated.
A friend of mine owns a 98 wrc Subaru so I'll stick my head under it and have a look next time I'm over to see what you meanComment

He means that the bearing at the hub is fixed, cannot be rotated. Because of the crappy design of the McPh strut braking forces are being transferred by an opposed torque compared to braking direction. This torque will make your rose joint twist. That's why they use the double adjustable ones at the subframe side. Being a couple these can cancel out twisting forces because they offer dual opposed reaction forces.
Because the 'arm' is shorter on the bottom side the reactional force is bigger as well.
I would recommend to use dustcovers for these expensive Aurora's (used on the Works Evo WRC as well) to extend longevity. Will try to find the source for you guys.Attached FilesComment
