Looking good Lee. What did you do for the water pipes on the back of the engine to the heater matrix, mine aren't as neat as that

OK guys, sorry for the lack of activity, work has seen me globetrotting from Budapest, to tenerife, beijing and tokyo... sounds fun, and it was in places but it is work and your life is on hold when it happens.

                            A teaser:

                            An update:

Got the car back from Aidan about 4 weeks ago, ran ok but had a few issues that needed to be resolved, namely:
                            • Exhaust fumes entering the cabin
                            • Exhaust rattled on startup and driving as well as sitting off centre
                            • Rattle from tensioner rattle
                            • Loom needed unpicking and packing in the dash recess
                            • Oil temp gauge doesnt work as 1.8T doesn't have the sensor
                            • Stereo power was dead
                            • speedo is out
                            • Accelerator cable clicked and catched
                            • Snub mount fell off while driving

on the plus side, the car pulled nicely and feels like it came out of the factory that way, the conversion is really well packaged and Aidan has done a solid job keeping it looking OEM.

Anyway, he took the car in while I was away with work and fixed all of the issues above, the car now looks and feels better, he had to run a new power line for the stereo, sealed teh gap where the loom came into the cabin - resolving the fumes stuff, exhaust is aligned and with new rubbers - which solved the rattle, snub mount attached and adjusted, cable clearance improved.

The oil temp gauge still doesnt work but he has an electrician ready to look at it, but I am thinking about trashing that gauge off and getting a boost gauge in its place, which I think is more useful for my needs.

Anyway, I started to put the interior back into the car and took these photos before the loom was sorted out, but gives you an idea on how things are progressing.

                            Next on the list:

                            - stock dyno this week
                            - up to Bahnstorm this week after the dyno for a remap
                            - refit the rest of the interior
                            - fit the alpine stereo, wire the sub in and tune it all in
                            - in a couple of weeks, respray the roof, bonnet in and out, wing mirrors, rear numberplate surround and front n/s wing
                            - work out how to fit the B5 S4 rear leathers
                            - retrim the door cards in leather to match seats (much later)
                            - upgrade turbo after the summer
                            - get the RS4 replicas on the car
                            - fit the G60 brakes...

                            loads to do then!

enough gassing, here are some pics:

I'm not a fan of fitting 1.8T engines to older cars normally, but this conversion looks totally standard as if audi intended it, I take my hat off to you sir this looks awesome!
