The powdercoating was done by a chap called Harry at www.briteworx.co.uk

The banner was from the gent that runs http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Sprint-Display

I can't recommend the both of them highly enough

In case people are interested, the banner guy said he'd be willing to do a discount for a group buy (mine was £16 plus £3 delivery, so not exactly expensive anyway) but I didn't want to organise that before seeing the quality for myself. It's good

This lot and whole heap of 4mm vacuum pipe should ensure everything goes to plan when I fit the new N75 wastegate control and 710n recirc valve!

Got some of these for the winter 16"s:

                And one of these

Could really do with another one now and some time to start fitting my ever increasing collection of parts

What's the deal with the differing disc sizes for the 996 conversion? Some have 314mm and some 323mm I was going to work from Jonas R's guide here - http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27268 Is there particular part number or make/model of car that thr 323mm discs come from?

                  Just one of them?

314s fit under stock ABY avus wheels, they don't fit under 3b wheels without spacers, 323s may fit under ABY wheels with spacers, you would need to check.

Discs are from and A8. Part numbers are on here

Bambridge can supply 314, or 323 brackets for the 996 calipers.

I went 314 so I can use stock 16" ABY wheels with no hassle. ( Note if you have a spare 3b wheel and get a front wheel puncture you will need to swap wheels around)

There is a load of info and part numbers in the 996 conversion sticky

Went to the car today with the intention of changing the rear shocks but seem to have lost my trolley jack while moving house recently, haha. So I was limited to jobs that can be done with the car on the ground...

Stereo went in a few weeks ago but it's hardly been on. I prefer the soundtrack of the Audi I5 Backlit red so it fits in with the rest of the dash:

Swapped to a new Bosch lambda since my fuel consumption is shocking. Old one looks to have snapped!

Got the ABY airbox and K&N fitted, much more induction and blow off noise now which makes the stereo even more unnecessary! Also got my powdercoated strut bar fitted

Awaiting all wishbones and cam cover coming back from the powdercoaters so should have a decent update when they go in and I get the Roose hose hit and ABY crossmember and intercooler on

Got a pair of track rods through from Kit so fitted my Bambridge adjusters and Lemforder ends. Just waiting on the inner bushes, then to give them a lick of pain and fit, then I'll hopefully get a bit more feeling back in the steering. Also looking at replacing the damper but I believe that's a dealer only part now?

Got this from the missus on Saturday for my birthday Again, waiting on some caliper carriers being made up then I'll request discs and pads from Santa and
get the big stoppers on! Car tax is preventing that happening this month

Went for a bit of a blast today to kill off my tyres as they'll be renewed before the winters come off. The O/S/R tracking is miles out. This was at 2mm 6 weeks ago:

So the new rubber and old 16"s went on and I took it for another blast (nothing too tasty, these are only H speed rated ). Very happy with the Snowtracs and dropping a wheel size is always a pleasant experience in terms of weight saving and handling, IMO.

Finally, what do folk do for the rear track rod inner bolt at the top of this picture?

The part number Audi now supply is a normal hex head, which I believe doesn't allow you to get a socket on it in the recess. I don't think reusing the bolt will be an option judging my the condition of just about everything underneath the car, haha.

                              Nice additions.

You could find out the bolt length/pitch and get the correct grade from a proper hardware shop, or online. Might need to get one with the right shank length, and cut down?

I am sure there was a thread on this a couple of months back, I will have a look later.

Are you taking the rear arms off to unseize before the alignment?

Yeah, it's the shank length that's causing issues on the ones I've looked at. I never thought of cutting one though

I wouldn't be able to unseize the arms because at some point the car looks to have had sealer sprayed over the top of rust rather than prepping it properly, so everything's a disaster back there. Nuts, bolts, fittings, everything, not just the chassis I don't want to pay labour rates to have a garage do them either.

Got new Lemforder arms to go on and get 4 wheel alignment done before it chews the new winter rubber!
