What kind of exhaust/manifold are you going for?

Can you not use a stock manifold and a hacked downpipe as a temp? Or is this a bit you want done properly once?

bit of my 5 cylinder history, getting a lot of PM`s asking about this....................

first 5 pot history......

i pair for a white 5 pot Coupe Quattro, dont know any more other than it was a rolling shell! oh and had Quattro script rear screen..... cool as fu c k!!
deal was secured then the owner dropped his ba11s. what a tool!! i was propperly gutted.

i was looking for cars when i got a phonecall saying a mate of a mate of bobs wife who knew jane`s boyfriend who had a......... etc etc lol
i went to see what bits were for sale and i bought 7 "bread crates" full of 10v turbo bits, basivally 3 or 4 full engines inc turbos, engines, heads, blocks, ancillaries etc with metering units and inlet bowls with TURBO cast into them, i was well chuffed.

i decided because of my " biggest passions in cars were Sapphire Cosworths and 5 pots i would make a mutant.
so i put a 10vT in a sierra! mounted it in the engine bay, piped it to a mk3 golf radiator, Volvo diesel gearbox (then a MT75 in the end)
but never completed it as i sold all the 10vT bits as i decided i wouldnt get enough power

i then bought an Audi 200 turbo!!!!
was in Jewish racing gold lol with velour matching trim, FWD and waftamatic all for £300!!
i wound the boost up and cut the backbox off it within hours of getting the car off a transporter
it was useless, coming on boost it would wheelspin so violently when full throttle changing into 2nd the box shat itself within 2 weeks of ownership lol

i was back onto cosworths again,
did a mag featured 500+ RWD sapphire "sleeper" (can you see a common link here? lol )

got bored and bust it for bits, tried buying a few S2 avant and coops but they had all sold....... RATS!

bought another saff.......... lol

this and that happened, spent 20k+ on it in a year and sold it for £4500

and bought this



the long drive home was GLORIOUS!!!!
chipped and loud exhaust = 2 tanks of fuel on the way home lol

i ran the car for a year (very hard, rev limmiter launches, wont mention top speed but i ran out of revs in 6th,,,,!)
then decided i loved my daily hack 2.5tdi Quattro Sport Avant A4 and 5 pots so much i was going to mutate my very quick 14.4sec 1/4 mile tdi into a 5 pot lunatic wagon.

so i did, please see this thread from the start lol

its all got to be fabricated Andy, this is the position a normal manifold is in, turbo wants to be where the strut top is lol





i want a 3 or 3.5in downpipe and a standard RS4 looking tailpipe arrangement

little bit of an update

slight change in plan with regards manifold etc

always wanted to use one of these 7a manifolds,
what a ba57ard to fit on my car!
had to re-make the o/s engine mount and trim the o/s "subframe"

as im a pic whore, i will just post piccies to tell the tale!!!!

all ideas set in stone and sorted!!

just need a spare exhaust housing to mock up and then its full steam ahead with the final bit of fab work

looking forward to clearing the last hurdel so to speak

and at least some progress is happening, think you need solid mounts and to brace both parts of the subframe together, thats a b*tard to push as it is

after all this time im still no further forward buying solid bushes, cant do fook all with the car untill i get these sadly

034 are 100% USELESS and ignorant

will never use them again as long as i live, upwards of 5 emails sent with not one reply.

not impressed like.

away untill next month now, then i will be buying a set hopefully from another 034 supplier.

if not i will maby just have to suffer some powerflex ones for now so i can push it in/out of the garage

Further to my comment above, JHM Motorsport responded to my email within 20 mins and talked me through the checkout process to get Quotes from the services they provide!!!

im well happy with this and will be paying the $200 Delivered price (£140 GBP give or take a few pennys) once im back on the 27/28th

Calipers awaiting collection, few other bits n bobs then the "chassis" is all done

water pipes all mocked up and finalised, although i might change the radiator for non "clip on" fittings, this will please me muchly.

going to buy engine paint, steel multilayer headgasket and get those 2 jobs out of the way ASAP.

and a reducer to make a blow thorugh MAF for ease of running in and out of the garage etc while i sort the gauges and other bollochs out

no pics as of yet, but lots more once i get calipers etc

well, still no word from 034 motorsport about the front subframe bushes i wanted to order from them.................

but JHM stepped up and had them DELIVERED before the knobs at 034 even replied to me :mad:
