Going to need it. Cheers Martin, big help.

Away to run down the shop see if it's still running rough.

So quick run down the shop. Let the car heat up as per usual.

Then let it open up in different gears.

1st to 2nd slight judder, restricting to 1.1 bar.

3rd wot 1.1 spike then backing off to 1 bar.

5th gear 0.7 bar kicking in worse judder maybe cause of load and doing a 5th gear full wot. Then 1.1 bar.

Feels restricted. But when off wot it never plays up. Runs smooth. Does remind me of when coils played up before but different this time around.

Thought pos or maybe spark plugs loosening. Boost is holding so thinking no leak. Can hear the n75 clicking. Will vagcom tomorrow thanks to Martin and take coil cover off and check sparks and may fire them over to see if all are sparking.

Guess with testing spark pattern firing etc. just rest cover with spark plugs in have one turning ignition and one to check firing.

The joys of the cars. But least this time around got the gauge fitted to see what the car is doing.

Just got to get dirty again

                Right all help time.

Thanks to Martin for coming to lift codes from the car.

Here's a screen dump of said codes.

G28 showed on both mine and martins car. Reason being car is not moving.

Then the next two codes didn't show on his. The G68 and G71.

Would any of these two codes be my issue??

                Ta Chris

I was reading else were that G71 could be the map sensor faulty and replace or repair ecu?? And what is the j220 to find water or kinks...

Also the solenoid is located near the ecu under the foot wheel??

Guessing J220 is the location in the ecu??

If its reading too high.. Would that be pointing more towards the wastegate over a pinched hose which would make it too low??

I've read before wastegate goes its letting in too much pressure.

Right just taken coil cover off, checked spark tightness. Nothing slack and nipped up.

Nipped up all boost hoses I could see and access and check over. No boost tester to hand.

Same time adjusted lights and alternator belt and pos belt. No more annoying squeaks.

Checked oil and topped up a little and left car to run full cycle. Whilst leaving it to idle would slightly boom through different patterns.. Misfire maybe??

Took car for a drive same symptoms. Listening with all music off hearing a whine within the car like the turbocharger maybe. In second gear at 4k shows -0.5 boost half 3/4 throttle which I thought was strange.

                        Any ideas.

Been suggested to check the ecu solenoid for blockage.

Have you checked the boost pressure pipe connection to the ECU in passenger footwell? Could be the small bore boost pipes that are causing the problems?

Hey Greg, the car had been running faultless till recently. I've checked as you mentioned the pipes around the ecu in the footwell. They all seem ok. Ideally want to get shot of the old boost pipes and fit new ones.

But saying that they are all in great condition. Sometimes I get 1.4 bar pressure. To me it feels like pos or coil.

I read through ursboy threads on testing the injectors and pos. but pulling the injectors one by one never showed the symptoms he mentioned. Idle all went rough, not staying the same.

So he then mentions coil, but needing someone to stand turning ignition to watch the sparks firing.

Unless my new NGK plugs have failed after 3000 miles....

Where did you get your paint done?

I had a leak on the hard plastic pipe on the bulkhead before it heads to the ecu, might be worth checking.
Also when I had issues with coils and pos I went for a good blast then immediately pulled the plugs to check for colour.
What you up to this weekend need to get a leak test done myself?
