Oh the joy being able to drive her again. Pulling strong. Defo turning heads, one guy I clocked taking pics from his fr Leon.

No luck on the grill, feels naked without it.

But I'm soo cuffed. Will take some pictures tomorrow. Got a few things to do nothing major. Make sure the reflector is water tight.

Now guys when's the north east meet or who's cruising tonight???

Its just the rings that I think are nla.

                    @chris:

ever thought of removing the rear wiper, washer jet and getting a shorter aerial (honda civic one's work good) as it would tidy up the rear end for not a lot.

Some pressed metal numberplates would be another good addition - ebay do them for around £20 delivered.

                    keep up the work.

Very true Pete, when looking at the rear it's kinda over kill with that long wiper blade. Defo getting a smaller aerial, it's too long.

But it's defo turning heads all night

                      List of jobs...

Source a grill, either the stealers or through forum. Was thinking temp measure spray the chrome black just to stop the front being an eyesore due to that.

Align the exhaust a fraction better.

Add the boot handle, whilst aligning he reflector a fraction up on one side. Still looks awesome.

Take Petes advice and delete wiper, or add aero maybe??

Install interior pieces. Maybe when the car is apart for audio do mood lighting. Grab handles are a must I think.

                      Fit some bigger rims @pete

Then when this whole cosmetic stage is up, source lowering springs whilst retaining the stock shocks. It's just where I travel to and from is harsh road, it's a beaten track. Can't afford it being über low.

                      The noise it makes now is like a jet fighter it's just thrusts away :chit;

Maybe regards to the grill, I see aftermarket rings on eBay.de but if they are any good is another story.

Oh and give the girl a good polish and wax.

Just a joy to have the car back looking soo clean and fresh. The body work is spot on, the rear does it proud.

I've got one of the sets of FRP grill rings off ebay - quality is not amazing but what do you expect for £20? Some filler & a bit of a rub down and some satin black paint and you would never know. I have an almost finished DIY RS2 type grill frame and some black honeycomb mesh you might be interested in? Its made from an S2 one with the slats cut out and the sides plastic welded and fillered - still needs a final quick skim and a final rub down but looks like you are pretty hand with that stuff.

I got the bug now for car detailing!! Went out bought not one but two buckets, all the essentials and a starting basis of shampoo, clay bar, polish and wax.

Been trolling over the threads of what people use and recommend. Think a da buffer is needed.

Still in the process of waxing. So here's some pictures only done the drivers side at this point.

She better treat me to a nice present this year!!

No need for a buffer really, just a lot of time, patience, and an aching arm once you're done

I quite like the meguiars range, the paint cleaner prep before the polish and wax just seems to bring out the colour a lot more .

Rear light panels once done will make it look a treat

I saw your input in another thread and got those autogylm perfect polishing cloths they work wonders.

I found the meguiars ultimate polish was a pain to take off, I was at it for hours trying to remove. Maybe cause it was the panels I had clay barred and needed to wash again to get rid of the quick detailer?? I'm not sure. Or maybe my cloth was just reapplying or maybe cause it was minus figures kicking in.

I'm using the nxt generation kit, so the shampoo and wax liquid form. Bought the ultimate polish and thinking I don't like it. The clay bar kit is awesome what a difference I saw to my spoiler roof and bonnet where there was a lot of fallout.

Thinking to invest in the collinite wax for the general feedback on protection.

                              All input welcomed.

The lights what to use a wax or polish or neither

Haven't really had a go at my lights really yet and those cloths are great but I go through them real quick

I actually found that the wax was the hardest to take off but you really need to let it dry out in order for it to remove easier, with the temperature over there, I'd say 10-15 minutes.

Might be the same for the polish, I thought the Autoglym SRP was much easier to work with.

You can leave the quick detailer on as long as you remove it all after claying with a good microfiber to leave a dry surface for polish then wax. I tend to use a seperate microfiber for removing the polish and wax afterwards as they damp out after use.

I use those foam applicator pads, I get them for around 1 euro each pad, so I've got a couple when applying the polish and wax
