In my opinion, absolutely NOT. Kills the coils prematurely.

Today I took the upholstery in the boot off, because I will use that from my A100, wiring for audio needs to be done too and I know there is usually some rust patches there(there was) Also managed to fit the leather interior from S6 I had lying around, looks so much better already

Based on the amount of rust showing up on the UrS4 avant, are you sure you don't want to go the other way and swap the UrS4 goodies into the A100 avant shell?

A100 is a left hand drive and not a quattro, while UrS4 is roght hand drive and is a quattro, so I think it would be easier and cheaper to sort the rust out than move bits to my A100. And the rust looks worse than it is.

Okay. I must have missed the A100 = non-quattro LHD. Sorry.

Good luck with the rust. At the very least get a "RustStop" type product on there until you can fix 100%

Its an old car, bound to be a bit of rust. Looks alright for the age! I seen a lot worse. Looking forward to watching this develop, good work!

If my A100 would be a Quattro, wouldn't have bought the S4

I want to get it on ramp, and have a look at the rust and depending on how bad it is, I'll see whether I will take all the rear suspension off, clean the rust up and paint it, or if it's mostly just surface rust, will firstly get it on the road and then do the pretty stuff Engine will be sorted out though for sure.

You need to know how to weld, need a garage and lift, to be honest, just buy Quattro and move everything over. I looked at this option, definitely not easy or cost effective.

Had to get up at 7am (early when you are on your break) today, so I can get my car up on ramp, and I am happy to say, it isn't that bad, it is mostly just the sub frames that has rust on them, underbody and all the sills are as solid as it gets (pictures added). The rust seen in pictures looks worse than it actually is, mostly it is surface rust. If you keep in mind that that's 20 years of water and other cr**, it won't fail any time soon. Needs both shock dust covers and NSF track end, everything else is good Exhaust has been fixed before, and it is quite rusty, so stainless steel one is on my 'to buy' list definitely.

So I have decided not to take all the suspension off, but take bits off, and go over with wire brush, and treat the rust to stop from developing (product suggestions appreciated), will do full resto at some point, but living in London, with no garage or lift
it is pretty expensive and time consuming job.

News are getting better and better, took off the hose from the turbo, and luckily there is no unwanted play in the shaft and blades look quite good. (I think!)

What is the best way to sort out the peeling clear coat, any DIY ways, or body shop is the only way?

Also, talking about the ignition coils, they all work fine, just the spark plug connector were cracked. I was thinking, can I just change them, or upgrading to TFSI coils would be better route?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bremi-11893-.../dp/B00BPQT1TY (this is the ignition module?)

                          Cheers

No that is some strange coil with a three pin power output stage that very likely won't work with our 20VTs.
