Didn't think of that, even if I save €500 it is worth it. Thanks for an idea mate

I've been thinking of leaving the standard wheels on the S4, but I am afraid that it won't have that 'wow factor' my A100 has. What do you guys think? Would probably upgrade to 17", but to stay on OEM wheels would save me some dosh on tyres...and I do need some dosh

Also, I have noticed that front sits higher than the rear, is that normal?

There is something to be said for a stock vehicle.

WEll, once you start messing, where do you stop? Then you end up with something you have wasted far to much wedge on and is worth less than a standard vehicle.

I see where you coming from, but I am making it for me not to sell, so don't really care about value when it's finished.

I like the ride quality on these wheels, but lacks the wow factor I think.

Yeah, ride quality is another reason I am going to go back to 15" wheels, 17s make it suffer on the B3 CQ, well I think so being old-ish (37).

Most 20 year olds don't care about ride quality, whereas me, I think one of the most important things on a car, also, car being Quattro, want to have some fun sometimes without worrying about damaging wheels.

What size wheels you are running on the 17s?

225/40/17 or 225/45/17, I forget, they are close on the rear struts

You could go for 17'' and somewhat higher tyres than 45?

You end up stuffing the gearing then, which isn't good any way you look at it.

I'll be going back to 205/60/15 at some point, and probably enjoy being able to drift it round corners again more easily.

I believe the UrS4 ran higher tyres than an S2 from factory anyway? Don't know exactly what you mean with stuffing the gearing, but I ran 225 50 17 on my V8 without any issues (except from slight rubbing at the rear end)

Anything with a larger rolling radius will raise the gearing, i.e. lower the revs on the engine. You may not notice os much on a V8 with all the torque available from low down, but with turboed and NA multivalve engines you end up labouring them, and your speedo goes out too.

Originals are 225/50/16, I was thinking of going 225/50/17, but that would make ~4% difference in diameter, whereas 225/45/17 would only be ~0.5% difference, but again, how would ride quality be affected?

                                Anyone here runs 225/45/17 setup?
