Reading on here it seems to be MAF, hesitation and boost is there but nothing really happens.

    oh i see now.
should not be tps related, more like maf.

I used vagcom for testing TPS and there were no dead spots anywhere.

If I unplug the MAF, and try to rev it, it will try to stall but then I just press throttle more and it picks up revs.

is the car driveable with TPS disconnected? did you do the resistance test for tps etc?

If you unplug the maf and the car is not able to rev, that may point to dead tps, as with both non functional motronic has no reference of the amount of air inside the engine.

Not really. Also I've noticed that when idling, and I rev it, revs drop before it picks up, checked TPS and that's working fine.

Lambda is about 10k miles old so I'm thinking MAF but when I unplug it car is stalling as soon as I touch the pedal.

Is the weather warmer than it was "before" by chance?

Umm... that is because you dropped the revs below the point where the turbo wants to spool up. What is the surprise?

Compression is great, have Bosch plugs and TFSI coils too, I mean when it runs it puts a massive smile on my face.

I am leaning towards a MAF, but before I splash out on a new/used one want to check it first.

    Oh we are

I just got back in from fettling the S6 saloon. I'm sure there's nothing major wrong with your car and the most likely culprit is the Maf. We had noticed a fall in power over months on our A4 1.9tdi and i immediately thought it's the Maf.It was just about to go into Audi for it's yearly service. This was a few years ago now. Anyway the tech at Stafford Audi said to me there are no fault codes but i suspect your Maf is on the way out.Wow i thought i never voluntered or mentioned anuything about Maf's.A new one was £45 from Audi this was 6 years ago and Et Voila perfecta mon!!

I take it cylinder pressures are all good, and spark plugs gapped properly?

Keep your chin up Janis, anyway . .. .. i thought you Eastern Europeans were made of strong stuff. Should be Simples !

My Maf is pointless without an ECU or injectors at the moment.
I don't no. I PM'd Rikki from here as I know he got a MAF and he lives 15 minute drive from me.

I'll let you know when he gets back to me, thanks for the offer
