Some updates. I stripped everything down and blew it out with air and brake cleaner. Fitted new main standard size bearings and tried to measure bearing crush for ages. I just couldn't get any sort of repeatable measurements. So I have gave up trying and have fitted the crank. I have ran out of the correct sized plastigauge so have ordered more to measure clearance.

I fitted 0.25mm under size bearings to the rods and with these I could measure crush easily. I have between 0.11 and 0.13mm. I the fitted the pistons and rods back in the block and managed to break a piston ring in the process which is a bummer.

Anyhow I don't think I'm going to make the ring in Germany at the start of September. And the mot has ran up on my Urs4 so I need to sort that out asap and take it instead.

Post 432 has what I think happened. Just gathering parts back up again. It's a bit depressing.

so you think that the oilpump sucks air ?
this was also my problem in the past,even when i drove straight on hard launches you saw my oilpressure dropping

Yep I think it must of been getting air. So baffled sump, different breather and an acusump hopefully fix it.

I plan to get the engine in the car soon. It's almost built. Off tomorrow and Tuesday so that's my plan.
