      • Windows now fitted but am missing trims for quarter Windows. Did some more wiring and fitted the oil cooler.







        Welded up most of the crank breather piping too.

              • So I have been working on the car loom. Most of the stock quattro loom was a nightmare due to the autocheck system and the talking woman sensing every dam thing. So the only part of the stock loom that's left is the bit that runs from the switches to the fuse box and even that has had to be modified. So I have new cables running to the front and back of the car and have all the rear lights working. I have the horn, air blower, wipers working and another 2 fuse boxes fitted. The horn now operates from the button on the stalk that used to operate the computer woman. It's real slow work. Now just need to do all the front lights and rad fan etc and the dash computer. It now turns over on the starter from the key and the oil system is connected. Getting oil every place It should and some pressure which is good.

                  • Not far away now. If I had my vems I would of started the engine this weekend. But these other things need done anyhow so no big deal.

                    Also connected up the fuel pumps and relays. Wound the fuel pressure regulator flat out to 10 bar and checked for leaks. Was drawing 50 amps at that point and drained the half charged battery in 10 minutes.

                        • Ahh on the rocker cover. That's the crank case breather. It's the highest point on the engine so least likely to have oil. That goes back in inch pipe to a separator system made by Mann. Then it returns via a check valve to the sump. It's the 400 model and is rated at 700 bhp..

                              • Yep suitable for trucks etc. People normally use the smaller 200 model.
