That would make a lot of sense, because after I filled the PS resevoir, I didn't have the brake problem at all. Of course, now that its leaked enough, the problem is back. Imagine that. So cool, just replace the hoses and clamps?

A lot better than buying a new f-ing bomb.

My bomb arrived this morning, it's brand new in a sealed Febi Bilstein box. You'll need to supply your chassis number as there are different ones according to the year of the car, mine is an early one , part number 26537.



www.custom-auto-craft.com highly recommended.

Looks like I spoke too soon, don't order from Custom autocraft just yet as they don't fit. One of the fittings on the side is too big. I'll let you know what Paul has too say.

It seems there are 2 different 'bombs' for the 3B and i got the wrong one. To his credit Paul posted the correct one out straight away and I got it in a couple of days. This is now fitted and has made a huge difference to the brakes.



The one on the right is the later type with a sqaure lower half, the other is the early type with a round bottom half.
If anybody wants a brand new bomb for an early 3B, let me know before I send it back to Luxembourg.

Not sure mate, the one from custom autocraft works fine though and was a bargain at about £100 delivered. Have you tried to contact Paul?

I have a new bomb as well ordered from Paul. Do I need to bleed the brakes again after fitting the bomb?

bomb isn't connected to brake fluid, so you shouldn't need to bleed your brakes after changing it.

Stupid question. Just bought a new replacement brake bomb to do while the head is being gas flowed etc. My question is... where is the brake bomb located

here is what I have found is mostly the problem with the "Bomb" fittied for our cars in this country.
The hose clamps SUCK AND LEAK like a sieve. Are you seeing PS fluid covering certain places on the system?
Take a look at the hoses going into the PS reservoir and other connections. The hose clamps are not holding the pressure correctly. Alot of guys in the States have replaced these POS with FI clamps.
I haven't had a problem since.
