Can anyone confirm what the connector in the 5th picture in the first post in this thread is for? (The one being held)

I've just refitted my heater box and just noticed it, I can't remember disconnecting it, is it not used?

On a side note Paul's excellent PDF in this thread isn't accessible anymore, did anyone save it?
