is there an aby into type 85 diagram by any chance?

Yes - if you follow this...

        http://www.s2central.net/S2_Schemati...tic_Primer.pdf

and then digest all of this... in the knowledge that a Typ85 (B2) fusebox is same as B3/B4 then you are well on the way.

        http://www.s2central.net/S2_Schematics/ABY_Wiring.pdf

The complete ABY schematics are here from Oct-92 thru Jul-94 and here from Jul-94 onwards

Most of the Typ85 schematics are at kerbside motors of course - already posted in this thread.

I guess author is toxcheap from motorgeeks, but I'm not sure. Anyway it is done by some audi fanatic, who wanted to share.

KWLW - did you take the engine speed signal to ecu and take it directly to tachometer?

Not sure I understand your question. Engine speed signal is generated by flywheel teeth sensor (pin 49), and is used solely by ECU on original AAN loom.

AAN ECU generates proper tachometer signal on pin 40 (five cylinder signal), and yes, I have wired this signal to the dash. Hope this answers the question.

Cheers, yeh wanted to confirm it was pin 40, the lilac and black wire that feeds tacho signal.

Another question if its no trouble..... ECT thermal switch (F76), I have two wires for this.. one is Brown/yellow and on T6C, the other is Blue/Yellow and on T6D.... Where did you wire these into or just left?

I'm not using an instrument cluster of autocheck in my car so alot will be defunct but hoping none of it feeds back to ecu.

F76 is called MFTS on this forum. I have used brown/yellow for the dash water temp gauge. Blue/yellow is for 3b ecu limiting boost and water overheat light, which is IMHO useless on 20v if you loose water (from my experience), because incoming air cools water manifold with MFTS enough not to alarm.

There's one signal ECU would like to have - pin 50 Road speed signal. My ABY ecu is complaining about it missing on higher speeds. No affection on function, or performance, however it is not so nice to have "check engine" light on highway or track. AAN manual gbox ecu/code is not complaining by any means. So it's your choice to wire it or not to wire it.

So brown/yellow wire goes to water temp gauge, the other i can wire up to a water warning bulb if need be?

Road speed signal wont be connected i guess, seeing a type 85 - 016 gearbox is cable driven speedo and so has no connection for the plug. If it wont affect ecu i'll just leave this section disconnected, unless its possible to remove it neatly to simplify matters.

I know i'm overloading with questions here but i want to confirm that my assumptions are correct.

On the oil pressure sender there are two wires, a white and black and a blue and black. These are switch wires for 0.3bar and 1.8bar so are they warning lamp feeds? The black and brown wire on the sensor above is the gauge signal feed.

One final question, Afterrun turbo coolant relay, mines missing so i need to get hold of one... but a single brown and yellow wire comes from pin 5 and goes to the afterun fan relay apparently. Does this wire just go to the fan relay on stock typ85 fuseboard? as a signal to turn fan on with the afterun pump?

                      Yep

It is possible to convert using sensor from audi 100. However then you need to have digidash, or some other form of electrical speedo (BTW "mechanical speedo is electrical too).

Yes, they are warning lamp feeds. However if you will remove oeldrucksteurgeratt relay from original loom, you will loose this functionality. Note, that it is also using tachometer signal, so if you connect tachometer cutting old wire, it will not work.

Typ85 has single fan speed, while C4 chasis uses three I think. I was too lazy to invent something, and just tapped into radiator temperature sensor wiring. When it is shorted - fan runs, or something like that. If you like - you can use old K-Jet afterrun fan drive on the loom. Two separate mini plugs with rubber insulation. Actually I'm not running automatic afterrun, but using switch for fan.

I recently did a AAN swap into my 90q. I used pin15 out of terminal B for both of these AAN pins:
black/green pin 27. ECU Power supply Terminal #15 (Ignition +12V)
black/red 37. Voltage Supply (+12V) input with ignition on for all 5 Fuel injectors (N30-N83), Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70), Evap canister freq. valve, Wastegate Freq. valve, Idle air control valve ( Fuse #72)
                        Was this ok?

Also, I swapped out the fuel pump relay with one from a s4 and spliced pin 3 (from aan) into pin s on terminal B, but the above diagram(page 2) shows that it isnt used? I had a wire already existing in pin S. Is that all I need wire wise for the fuel pump?

One last question: whats the best wire to splice into for the tach on the 90loom?

                        Thank you.

kwlw can you tell with what wire you connect pin 40 that it's showing tachometer?

Someone tell how to wire up the pin 40 to typ85 tach?

How do i make it to 5v ?
