Wanna switch from K26/27 to GT3071.......

I have bought a K26/27 turbo which im going to use on my car. But im looking at a Garret GT 3071 turbo. But im not sure what to do yet.........the turbo i have is flowprepped and ported so it will give full boost earlier than a regular K26/27 turbo. Is there anyone in here who uses a Garret GT 3071 turbo ?? When is full boost ?

search for threads +400 pekka and RS2 Comp turbo.

the GT2871 and 3071 seem to be the turbo's of choice at the moment.

You can say that again, got 2 of 1 and 1 of the other. I have never seen a turbo that you can blow into the compressor outlet (with you breath) and the wheel spins.

              Sure, it's no secret.

GT3071 - 10v ur (mine) tubular exhaust manifold, 3" downpipe and exhaust (with seperate w/g vent and side exit tailpipe), 034 IIc ecu with coil per cylinder and lots of other stuff. Plus a bit of magic thrown in.

              GT2871 - 10v ur see above

GT2871 - 20v (3B) 200 see above but ignore the IIc bit as we are sticking with Moronic for now

One word of advice to anybody wanting to use the GT series of turbos make sure you use/order an oil restrictor

                  http://www.034motorsport.com/product...products_id=74

Don't find out the hard way.

I believe you need a restrictor for a majority of garret turbo's as they only need 15psi of oil pressure.
