Exactly Jamo, and the reason for my quest...

With the 710N (S3/TT), you have to remove it to see if it's knackered, whereas with a piston type if you service it every year, you know it's OK
    Past: S2 ABY coupe RS2 spec with lots of mods, S4 B5 saloon, RS6 C5 saloon, S8 D2 FL, RS4 B7 saloon, S4 B6 avant

      Turbosmart vent to air bov

Same as the one pictured earlier in the post but with the vent to air.

Nice looking/fitting sounds ok (would have loved a bailey dump valve if I could get one) only draw back was the price.

I have gone trough 3 S3 DVs in the last year. They seem to be fine for a few months and then they start to chatter. The last one i took off was not even air tight anymore..

Im gonna look for a good replacement or even think about running a twin setup once the car is runnning RS2 spec.

But if you regard the S3 as sevice item. How many do you get to one slow responding piston forge at present prices ??

                Couple of Qs
Does the DV have to be a certain rating i.e. matched to the car or will any work?
I have been told there is a really nice one made here in Australia, anyone know what it is called?
Will I save money buying one in Oz and bringing it home or are all of the prices much of a muchness.
Are red or blue anodised ones better?

Turbosmart Supersonic BOV, again been fitted over a year and no problems. There seems to be a few more S2's with BOV's fitted now? I seem to remember from a previous thread that these could potentially cause problems with the MAF & Lambda and that Recirc's were the best option?

The APR R1 works well on S4, RS4, RS6`s we have fitted them to.
Well made and proving to be reliable.

I have none of the above, i run the Turbosmart Supersonic version 3, which has a 38mm pipe instead of the small restrictive standad size. it is welded on the bleck pipe above the turbo and is very very loud in deed. i fivd this to be the best dv i have ever used, i had the standard one before, than a forge, then a turboXS type-h rfl. this is by far the best i have had!

Plus it flows a lot of air which is good, because i want to put a larger turbo-charger on soon!
Probably the longet S2 project in history EVER!

bosch 0 280 142 110, used in Saab Aero&Viggen. Designed for 1.3bar boost stock, and was cheaper than 710N to boot
All quattro products have been dermatologically tested, and are safe for daily use.
