You boys have gone mad... We'll need a whole new forum for the bling brigade

Seriously though - I wouldn't run without a cam cover... I once wasted a perfectly good weekend at the Manx International rally with a wee car that kept slipping its timing belt all because a stupid little stone had ******ed the belt tensioner...

Ok, which chip is boost and which is timing (3B)?

I tried searching and haven't found it yet. My ecu is open to swap chips and the website I'm referencing doesn't seem to mention that part. http://www.quattro123.com/MPTSAudiECUupgrade2.htm

          Thanks,

Boost chip is on same board as the MAP sensor IIRC.

Thanks, Tom. That was right! I think I need to replace my fuel pump. It is stumbling when the boost comes on and stays on. It's also noisy; my friend describes it as an angry hornet's nest, and says that a steady humming would be okay but not that noise. My plan is to get some new crush washers and put in a new fuel filter that I have, to first rule out a clogged one.

If that doesn't solve it, I'd like to know if I can use one of the two CIS fuel pumps I have. One is from an '88 turbo quattro MC and the second is from an '87 turbo automatic MC. I think they are similar, but the part number is different.

If I can't or shouldn't use those CIS pumps, then I am interested in the direct-fit 040 pump. My pump has a screen at the bottom, so I think it's not a direct fit for the monster 044 pump (altho' I think people here may have fit them inside the tank, yes?).

This car will have an RS2 turbo and EM and larger (37lb/hr) injectors, so I think the 040 could be sufficient. Am I on the right track? I can go grab the MC fuel pump part number if that would help.

              Thanks,

              Ken

Dont risk using a small fuel pump, those injectors are fairly large. I would go on the safe side and fit the 044 motorsport pump. They arent much different in price. At least with the 044 you will have a nice reserve for future upgrades
