We have made an enhancement so that old threads should now link from search results to the correct thread. This is not yet in place for single post links
took lambda out today and cleaned it best i could , i know you cant really tell just from lookin at it, it was sooted up badly . Car still not boostin rite, just sits below 0 most of time and maximum of 0.2 bar boost.
Could movin maf to under turbo be a problem?
i did run it before wiv maf on turbo and no filter to just see if it would cure it,but it was no better. that was before a new turbo tho. julian was runnin maf under the rs2 turbo that was on it before and said it ran fine. mind you it was runnin a digi-tec ecu.
Maybe i will put maf in front of the turbo just to see.
yes i didnt want to put it there either as it runs too close to the manifold, there are threads on here where people have moved them and had no problems, but id rather move it, and also it has oil to deal with which all s2;s have
It may sound stupid, but is the throttle cable fine? A friend of mine was having boost problems and it was because the cable was loose / half broken.
By the way, I also think that moving the maf to the pressure size should need a remapping... at least I wouldn't do it without remapping the car, and without making sure that the maf is not going to blow because of the pressure.
I hope that you will solve the problem soon. Good luck!
cut down a paintbrush and use it to cvlean the maf wires. use some carb cleaner or similar.
a turbo is mechanical so it should boost regardless as long as you are getting gases to it. this does sound mechanical to me.
i am making the presumption that the car doesn't cough, splitter, miss or cough out black smoke. what does an af gauge tell you. do you see plenty of fluctuation of tracking stoich. then when going to the map do you see it hit rich minus 1 light or so?
issues with lambda usually result in missing around the time when the transition to map occur or about 2 minutes after startup. initial start is not lambda controlled usually as the probe needs to warm up in order for it to find stoich. its usually downhill from there
if it runs smooth and revs ok it should boost. if it feels normal id still be saying turbo and getting gas to it. id expect cam timing being off would rear its head as lumpy running or something.
