I agree about the 4th gears. It just so happens that I had more 3d gears logs which I could compare

There is no debate on the turbo it self. This tool gives a nice opportunity for comparison; we can try to explain results and there is where it ends. I will post my results without trying to prove if holset is good or not rather if my setup-map is good or not. I would like to go one step further and also post the log of the run back in page 2. Please comment on timing and other stuff you may see.

Not much to explain. Get the car on the dyno and load tune it to MBT in low and mid areas of the timing map.
          Voila, instant spool increase.

I need to remap it myself, it is running baby boost atm.
Will be cool to see your graphs from before and after, should make a nice difference with some real boost
The RS4 that I tested was very impressive in 1st and 2nd gear, since it delivers good torque and power in lower gears/low load. 60-100km/h in 1.9s is as fast as the R8V10. However, it didn't quite live up to my expectations in 3rd and 4th gear. Still, it matched the in-gear 4th gear acceleration numbers (100-120, 120-140, etc) of a bunch of 450hp+ RS4s obtained by the "Sport Auto" magazine in their test of B5 RS4 tuner cars (MTM, Sportec, B&B, etc) It boosted right on requested boost, timing was fine, etc. It was however, running on C6 RS6 20" wheels, and that does not make it any faster in a straight line

Yep. For some reason, the program won't allow comparison of 4th gear pulls (a bug in the program), so we will have to use 3rd gear runs for comparison anyway.

I'm sure someone can, but I googled the issue, and found that somebody asked the guy that made the program that very question a long time ago. Seems that this is the latest revision of the program, so he didn't bother to fix, it it seems.

I found another issue: I loaded to similar logs into both the base and comparison runs, with same weight, gearing, etc, but he comparison run gave 10more whp and 10 more wtq. The base runs yield a correct graph, but it seems that we should ignore the comparison runs, unfortunately.

It wasn't that he didn't fix it so to speak, it was fixed in version 6 but as per earlier, someone was helping him make a stand alone stole the code adn then he got a real dyno and hasn't bothered with it since

Have you checked that the tyre size is correct?

I'll double check the findings this afternoon and also see if I can come up with similar graphs through my Excel. It doesn't have these problems.

                        Nicely spotted!
The comparison car had 235 instead of 225, so that solved it
Good to know that we can compare 3rd gear even though comparison of 4th won't work yet.
I will post some comparison graphs later: stock vs remap RS2 and some other goodies.

I have another result for you:

Ross's RS2, K27/26 with lots of people on board, 3d gear pull

i am not sure if this is a different run than the one previously posted by Ross, but i have put in the correct weight and tyre dimention.

Ross's car weight is 4225+135 (driver) with 225/40/17 (are you sure it is not 45???)
Mine is total including driver: 1780kg = 3922lb on 245/35/18 tyres.

Here you go: Base is Ross, and Comparison is me. However i dont know what boost is Ross doing on this run. i am at 1.4 to 1.45

Now corrected due to the wrong tyre profile on Ross's car. i knew it wasnt adding up!

Thanks Vas! I wondered why your torque was alot lower... that was target boost of 2.05bar boost and the gauge was verifying that. It would be good to see a 1.8-2.0bar pull to 7000rpm on yours, because that doesnt display the full potential of the 3076.

Oddly enough since I thrashed it on track @ Castle Coombe I'm getting 2.2bar in the midrange, even in 2nd gear :mischeif: so I need to gather some more data!

It is the same graph, but I am using 22.4ft frontal area and 0.35cd on the vehicle settings which is probably where the difference lies. I don't know the best figures to use there.

i have 21.94ft frontal area on all of my runs, but dont remember where i found that number.

yes, i havent bothered to tune the car as im heading on the dyno in a week's time anyway. However what is interesting is the next comparison that i will do...

                              give me a few mins....
