Does N75 affect anything else, or just the fact that it won't boost past .4/.5? For instance, under city driving?

It seems that you didn't read the link I provided very thoroughly. Try again:

      The Audi Enthusiast website. Forums for all Audis including A4, S4, A5, S5, A6, S6, allroad, A8, S8, TT, R8, Q5, Q7, 4000, 100, 200, v6, v8, vintage, local forums

Your issue is one or more of these:

      1. The ECU's internal MAP sensor is not connected to the intake manifold and therefore has no clue about what is happening with the boost, so, by default it is NOT controlling the N75.

      2. The MAP sensor is dead

      3. The N75 is dead or the wiring to it or the hoses to it have a problem

      4. The ECU has a significant fault and is unable to control the N75.

IF you have 100% checked out possibility No. 1, e.g. by using a vacuum/boost pump between the hose at the intake manifold and the connection to the brass pipe going into the ECU (and/or the hose between the brass pipe and the MAP sensor), then your issue is possibility No. 3. You have been pointed to the techniques to check out the function of the N75.

The connector on the 3B WGFV is at 90 deg to the ABY one. AFAIK this is the only difference.

and did you find that it worked just as well as the old n75 even though they are different models?

Not a scooby yet as it has no ECU

But I expect it to work fine.

I've tried the 3B and the ABY valves back to back in my car, there is no difference.

My N75 is up above the headlight so I can keep an eye on it and the ABY valve allows a tidier hose routing.

After finishing my M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering and working for Environment Canada for 2 yrs. , I took up a teaching/research position at the University of Saskatchewan and taught Environmental Engineering in the Civil Engineering Department for 15 years (12 years teaching and 3 years on a Ph.D. at the University of Toronto in the middle of that and was a Teaching Assistant for those years). Then I moved out to Vancouver and was a consulting engineer, often trying to educate both our clients and the public about the particular project, for 20 years. During the first 10 years of that I also taught Environmental Engineering night classes in courses that I developed at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) during the fall and spring terms.

So yes, after I have written something related to the 20VT S2, UrS4/S6 and/or RS2s, often in great detail with diagrams and annotated photos, I have an expectation that, when I post a link to that info, the person asking for information about that topic will actually read *AND* understand the information in question.

                          Silly me.

i'm not sure about the K valve, janis but yeah, unless you look at the other two with a serious PHd type noggin, then yeah, there's no real difference . .
