Whatever it is curiously goes away after a gear change or a period of over run. Tried it again today and it kept doing it; gutless in 3rd when the revs were allowed to rise from below 3,000 change to 4th and it pulls just as it should.

There does appear to be an overrun fuel cut off but I am not sure how it functions as its Motronic trickery!
You are also going from high vacuum to boost. Of course that leaves the PCV valves which route either back into the inlet manifold or the turbo depending on vac/boost. So no harm in checking the function of those. The large black one has an internal diaphram that tears.Comment

Did you check the wee PCV valve I mentioned in an earlier post?Comment

I presume you are not using the metal 034 little valve in the PCV system ?
A new oem one is better. Just mentioned so that everything is checked / covered.
Are there any rubber hoses that might be collasping / acting up in the fuel system.
You must be getting closer at this stage.

Hi all, thanks for the breather ideas but both the small valve under the manifold and the large black one are both under 6 months old and genuine Audi. Plus to further eliminate the large one, I drove the car with it disconnected and the hole in the MAF hose plugged up.Comment

Is there a channel on vag-com to show what the MAF is reading or any other way to see this? I'm sure it's down to fuel supply or Air measuring. The spark surely has been rules out by the COP conversion? And I've checked the valve timing a million times now. Exhause is clear and been swapped 3 times now. Car is boost leak free and the pressure is correct and perfectly steady.Comment

S6 timing
Is the MAF hose soft? I'm not sure what it's like on the s6 but on my coupe the original hose had gone floppy with the oil and was collapsing on boost and starving the engine of air. I think it made the boost drop too though, it's a long time ago.Comment

I presume you may have already done it, I read the full thread a while ago, but it can do not harm to do it again, is to spray the various electrical connections with electrical contact cleaner, on the MAF and TPS sensors in particular.

The ABY value would be the nearest AAN.
That all the info we have I think!Comment
