Absolute pig on cold tick over this morning, when warmed up more hesitant than normal, going to check isv and also all fuses.
Could isv be a factor with the running as well as the usual idling issues ?
Is that the one on the back of the head ?
Or we talking mfts ? Mine is unplugged at present as the connector is goosed
Umm...On the ABY/ADU, the MFTS is connected to the ECU via pin 46 of the T55 ECU connector. Using this pin as a high temp alarm (> 119 C) - the ECU cuts off active boost control as a safety measure. I would be concerned that disconnecting the F76 MFTS might make the ECU think there is a temp problem, thus lowering the boost.
Andy, you being on the forum this long and reading all of the threads you should know better.
I think you're expecting too much of the Colgate Express to perform faultless when you have not changed your fuel filter, and your MFTS is not connected.
I agree it is a pig to do the fuel filter, but it was worth it on mine, ( another reason why I like my UrS6s ).
You can still buy the brown plug for the end of the loom that plugs into the MFTS sensor from the dealer. Makes for a nice new firm connection at this electrical junction point.
Also make sure you are not using Bosch plugs and maybe use NGK ?
Looking forward to see what happens when you do the Filter and the MFTS.

Read my mind Dave but when you read a previous thread it's easy to see confusion IMO

Mfts already in hand but used as I need the wiring too as mine has disintegrated !
I AM using Bosch not NGK !!
I've been on this forum 10 years now and have had 10 s2's, I STILL say every days a school day......yes they all generally have the same faults but little things like mfts, n75, knock sensors etc etc still can be hard to diagnose, I hate it when things intermittently work
Right one more thing to consider, I have climate control as standard but a while ago I swapped the head to one from a RHD URS4, could this affect things ?
Sort of, I keep getting the same code coming back 00537 lambda (vagcom) 2341 blink code .
Waiting for a new section of wire and a connector for the mfts but was looking the other night and thought I saw a split in the tee rubber pipe for the oil breather than connects to the n80.
Going to remove today and see if I can replace. If I gently wiggled it the idle went up and down so obviously affecting it

I thought you did a boost leak test. That "tee" hose problem should have shown up then:
I thought you did a boost leak test. That "tee" hose problem should have shown up then:
Only if you include the PCV system in the test, ie. leave it connected at the MAF hose. If disconnected and the MAF hose take off is blocked then the one-way-valve will close the pressure side of the Tee hose.
I leak there will give a lean condition as unmetered air will bypass the MAF.
Well today removed the tee and it was actually fine, going to wait for my connector for the mfts to turn up and put it back to how it should be.
I did pressure test it a wee while ago and there were no leaks apart from the intercooler which I had welded up. Need to pressure test again.
Having now replaced plugs, coil packs, sorted downpipe leak and replaced the temp switch at the back of the head I am getting closer.
If the mfts switch and pressure test show nowt I'm going to look at fpr or maybe maf.
