Coil Packs Misfire

ok. So if i use the 1.8T coils instead once I have worked out how to fit them to the camcover and make sure the leads reach the plugs properly how are they wired?

at moment each coil has two wires to them which are a decent gauge and an earth connected to the coil cover.

How are the 1.8T coils wired? what would need to be changed? from what I understand the two amps on the bulkhead would become redundant and the input to those would then go to each seperate coil? then what else is required?

Ive started to re wire the coils as a temporary measure until I work out how to do the 1.8T coils since 3 out of 5 coils the insulation is breaking off right as it goes into the coil and ive taken one apart a little tonight but there isnt a way of reliably rewiring that close :-(

I got a quote from vag parts and they are 90.75+VAT & P&P so 1.8T's looks surprisingly attractive now.

I have misfire probl. at high gear under boost.

you have to put studs into the cam cover to mount them to and trim a bit of the coil pack off of the one that goes in by the oil filler cap.

I took a couple of pics last year. Just been checking some part numbers. I could do with knowing how the 1.8T coils are pinned out and what the pins to ignition amps are etc and what the 1.8T coils will need.

They are the same coils on as Becky's A4, three wires on each one. Not sure what they are, it uses 2 POS AFAIK. But thats only 4 cyls mind!!

Just had a look and it looks like those ones use a seperate output stage part no 8D0 905 351. Is becky's an AEB engine?

They will definately need some wiring mods. I havent worked out exactly what needs to be done yet but with A4 coils just changing plugs i think. with 1.8T re wire without ignition amps on baulkhead too.
